I love the music from the very old movies in the late 1920's & 1930's. The background music in the old Little Rascal and Laurel & Hardy moives fit perfect with the comedy scenes. Even some of the music played during silent films is fascinating to listen to. Some of the Woody Allen films like "Manhattan" had fantastic music in it, again just accentuates the scenes to perfection. Later...

Did you know that the old Warner Brothers cartoons had a full live orchestra that recorded to rough cuts of the film? They haven't done that in series animation, since.

I believe that some of the old Warner Bros music was Spike Jones.

Amazing orchestrations coupled with goofy sounds & yes, he & his band could do it all live, too!
