like i said....if you have people ringing you up 24/7 begging you to play w them...good for you. (no sarcasm there....really, more power to you.) but the idea that there is anything wrong w using every tool at your disposal to determine whether or not someone has "the stuff"......? if you still don't get that....then there's nothing more i have to say. (cue crowd applause)

You know the problem with getting REALLY angry, grabbing your football, and storming off like a b1tch is that you actually gotta stick with it and see it through.

You just can't like say you have nothing else to say if someone doesn't get whatever blabbing on about, then continue to respond anyways. That just makes you look like you REALLY can't stand not getting the Last Word and people ought not make generalizations like that.

Did you notice his reference to a guitar being out of to tune and he would never give a guy a chance based solely on a guitar being out of tune on the phone video..he would shoot that guy down simply because of his preconceived idea the guy does not know how to tune a guitar? Wonder if the guitar come out of a coldish closet and now it has suddenly went of tune cause the guitar has warmed but the guitarist has not noticed cause he is intently concentrating on the tune and not necessarily monitoring the performance.that is how he rolls.. Never give anybody the benefit of the doubt just tell them they are slimming it up or whatever.. A real winner

How much does a pro make?

Cherrypicking a conversation, what you do when you can make
your point without referring to someone else's point
Almost plagiarism

I'm always right, but I'm the only one who seems to know it.

What...you expect someone to address EVERY point and question raised or your frelings are hurt?

If someone cuts and pastes a part of the conversation to address that point, why would that get your bikini briefs all twisted up?

It's called communication. If anyone is too confused and can't follow along, you can always just scroll up to read the full post that it was "cherrypicked" from.

Not that hard to do.

You forgot to insert applause at the end of your own post. Otherwise how will we know that you think you are right? These things matter.

Yup. We've got 3 gigs booked (had 4, but the guy who's quitting couldn't make the 4th due to his anniversary). Place we played twice last year wants us for multiple times this year.

The keyboardist is up for continuing this, so now we go through the crap of trying to audition people.
I'm drawing the line, though, this time:
1) Cannot be in another band. I know some folk, like PlanetGuy, can handle this, but when scheduling gigs and rehearsals, its real tough - unless none of the band members have regular jobs, of course!
2) Must have examples of work online/shareable. In this day and age there's no excuse for not having at least some phone-made youtubes.

I'm waiting to hear back from the first guy I know who contacted me, I know he can play and has gear (he owned the music store where we used to have our songwriting meetings), but I think he plays in another band.
2 guys who left replies on FB posts (rather than messaging me) I KNOW are not good fits. personality/style-wise. It's hard to discourage these people 'nicely'.
Auditions always suck - for all parties - but I'll at least give this a try, assuming I can find good possibilities, otherwise by the end of March 'Trilogy' will be no more.

Oh, one add: our of all the messages I got (CL + FB), only two people bothered to include links to their music. Most replies were 'got a song list?' 'what kind of music?' or 'is it only acoustic?'

Guitar Mike, you HAVE THE GIGS BOOKED! that means somewhere in your past performances there, they have loved what they heard...enough to ask you back! that is a PLUS PLUS WIN WIN!.. you need to look at what that key ingredient was, and what YOU! had to offer in the group and build it out from there.build on your stengths Guitar Mike not what the other band members offered cause they are gone..kaput..history now LOL... go with what you know and what the audience is lapping up.. look at the cheers you received pertaining to which tune you got that positive response and build on that sir.. love you as always, Dayne,..
