Well, I think that just about any Huey Lewis album could fit in that category as well...classic sound w/better recording/production quality.

Well folks, I put my vote in for Guns N Roses-- Appetite for Destruction. My genre is the heavier side, but that recording oozed Rock an Roll, didn't it? Boston and their freshman effort ranks up there. Even though this next listing doesn't fit, the Operation: Mindcrime platter served up by Queensryche is still in my top 5 all these years later. Excellent!
