How come I cant tune my uke that way? I tune all my instruments all kinds of ways and have guitars that are permanenently tuned to G ( I love Keith Richards), one to E ( I love Duane Allman) and a acoustic guitar tuned to Aug G just to play Rain Song. Sometimes I tune the bass(just the E string) down to Eb.

who says you can't tune how you choose? i must have missed that.

I keep my Tele tuned to KR mode (G) and occasionally use drop D on my Strat. But like Lynard I also ran into some trouble. Roswell GA is a very artsy town and the cops here can be pretty nasty if you use an un-authorized tuning!

I wouldn't dare mess with my bass...
