God the list goes on and on...
This is no different then any Genre of music, bands progress with the times.
Saying someone is inferior because they scream a song just pisses me off.
Who do you really think is making more money right now? Classic Rock bands or Modern Metal? Looks like most of the Screamo bands are playing at Ozzfest this year... hrrrmm....
Someone 'is' inferior if they scream all songs. Or every song.
If they can actually sing, why would they want to do that to their vocal chords?
I'm not 'classic rock guy' but I would say that classic rock is bigger. If one were to go by the 14billion classic rock stations across the country. I'm sure they still get money from radio. Any time theres a famous old classic-rock band tour, the ticket prices are outrageous but they usually sell out.
I agree with mostly everything you've said Craig. I wouldn't apologize for anything.
I think alot of the new metal and screamo bands that I have heard are great. As talented bands.
The vocals ruin it for me, and I've tried to adjust to it and give it multiple chances.
I guess at the end of the day it's "To each his own".
