Question? can someone help. its been a while since I've been here. I have pro tools 12.7 and just started to use, but cant seem to find out how to get my pro tools when opened to get one of the windows to open the window on top that has a red round button for a stand by mode for record. it was there on a test session when I recorded a test track. there was a window at bottom of screen that has a fast forward /rewind/play/and Record/ button. this record button is pushed only when you are ready to start recording. The red round record button for stand by mode was in a window in the top part of screen when Pro tools was opened, now when I open a new session in pro tools, it is not there and I can't seem to find out how to get it to open so I can start to use Pro tools. If anyone can help me thank you. and thank you all and I send my best wishes for your music success. my email address is rev_richard_martin@yahoo.com

You can try over at the forums at homerecording.com . I would assume there is no PT help forum anywhere? I would not imagine there many people on the bandmix forum who use it.

Have you tried going to the "Helps" menu at the top of the program? I know that reading the directions is always a last resort with most of us (me included) but sometimes you will find the solution in the "encoded instructions" if you look hard enough. It's a bitch when you are forced to read the instructions, I know from personal experience.

I think that programmers make stuff confusing so that you will discard your software in hopes of buying more confusing software that you assume will be easier to understand... and so it goes
