Basically, I hear your tracks and the vocals sound kind of high pitched with bad reverb or something. You're a grown man and your voice should sound deep and rich on a track like this, with only a piano and no drums or electric guitars or booming bass lines to hide behind. What's your signal chain when you record? Can you eq the vocal track before you post it?

Hey Dillon, sorry for MemphisWillie's spam on your thread, hopefully it'll disappear when admin deletes his account (again).

I listened to your tunes, nothing wrong with your singing, good voice, but its how you are recording. Sounds like the mic is far away from your mouth and its picking up all the (bad) room reverb.
What mic are you using? When singing, you should use a pop filter. If its a condenser mic (I assume it is by how much room it picks up) you should be 2-5" away from the mic when tracking, and the preamp/interface level shoud be adjusted so you are tracking in the -18dB to -12dB range (you don't need to track loud).

Hey thanks! And thanks for the advice.
It is a condenser microphone. Good to know those settings.
As for the pop filter, ill have to get one. ill record another and post it on here with those tips. If you wouldnt mind having a listen once i do to compare?
Theres a lot more to this than i thought haha.

if you take the time to get the engineering right (the placement of mics, setting up the levels that compliment your voice or instrument the best) you'll end up with better recordings in the end. Also experiment with panning the piano and vocals to different places in the stereo image. For example, If you pan some clean (no fx) piano to the left and some piano to the right with a little delay or reverb, it makes arrangements like this sound much warmer to the listener. Same thing with vocals. You can try the opposite with the vocals, the fx panned to the right. It sounds more interesting than having everything panned in straight up stereo.
