Just learned that after 60 something yrs performing Gary Burton has decided to retire citing health reasons.

For many yrs GB has been the recognized and acknowledged leader on his his instrument, vibraphone.

We moved to MID Missouri in '84 and it was a very good yr to catch vibists around here.

Got to see Gary Burton, Bobby Hutcherson, Terry Gibbs, and Dave Samuels (w Spyro Gyra) all that same yr!
