I will no longer audition for anyone without online music available for me to pre-auditon them. Wasted too many hours on those who didn't have anything or just had a video where they're playing rhythm (maybe) in the background.

So I renewed my CL ads (looking for a band that needs an acoustic guitarist), and had 3 responses this week. First was too far away (north) and practiced on Wednesday afternoons - guess the guys are all retired. 2nd was too far away (northwest, an hour +) and the music was more bluegrass-old time than what I do.
3rd one, today, nearby, a possibility, but the guy said no music 'recorded' - I gave him a link to my youtube, and asked again (any older stuff/solo, etc). How is it in these days someone who purports to be serious about their musical ambitions not have anything on youtube or recorded in some fashion? Everyone's got a smartphone, it's not hard to record a quick video with one.

Not scolding, pointing out what is obvious to you and me, but not to them when they do it.

So much for this 'opportunity'. The guy thought I might work with them (based on my videos), but turns out they have 'rearranged' their work schedules to have Mondays off and that's when they practice. Really? And they think they're going to find another guitarist and bass player that will be able to do the same?
