"Janie's Got A Gun" is tuned up, I remember trying to play it and it is in this F# tuning or some form, at least the tab I found was (Could be wrong). Or maybe it had a capo, but it was higher than normal, lol.
Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

GA beleive it or not despite the image slipknot tuned to raised B just as coal chamber did (at least the bass) I guess it must have been easier then getting 5 strings, and I can't remember who had fun poked at them on the roadrunner united dvd for tuning high for a few years but I do remember someone did, I messes around with the tuning for a lil bit it was kind of interesting to slap an open top string and have the next one down be deeper
Had a bud in college played his Les Paul with a 5/8" deep socket on his ring finger as a slide guitar. Not sure seemed to be a trick he got fron Little Feat. I guess its nothing new but I dont think I've seen that trick in years. He told me there was a specific tuning associated with the slide style as well. All Greek to me.
Slipknot? Well I know when I play music from the connected band to Slipknot, Stone Sour, that it is tuned down to Drop-B. Deep! Lol. On my old guitar that tuning was a nightmare.

Tedlord, do you know the notes on the neck? The Chromatic Scale?
I am thinking you might be confusing "high" tunings with low ones. A high tuning would mean that your guitar is above Standard E. A low tuning would be anything under Standard E.
Drop D, Drop B, Drop C, Whole step down tuning, half a step down, whole and half, etc... Those are low.
If it is in F# tuning, that is high.
Of course, that is on guitar. But I know bass guitars follow similar patterns, they just have 4 strings.

Those are all bass tunings. From high to low.
