I just check out the 'ourstage' site. Guessing that the reason you see the low ranking on your songs (besides starting the month late) is that people are not listening to 'at least 15 seconds' of your song so they can rank it.
I also checked out their 'terms and conditions' info - did you? Once you load a song or video onto their site, they can do whatever they want with it with no royalty payments. This is much like the 'Tiny Desk' video contest that you may have seen in the last 2 years. Sure, you can get some exposure from it, but you're also giving up the royalties/rights for them to do what they want. You still 'own' the song/video, but you give them free a copy to do anything they want with it.[/quote

Be aware, though, that your submitted material is subject to our Terms and Conditions. Please be sure to read this document as it contains important information. Note that once your song has completed a competition, it can be hidden from search and from view on the site, but it cannot be removed from our charts and archives. The media pages remain technically live.

I gave it a like and then up poped a full page screen that wanted me to give them more information than they demand from muslims coming terrorist countries. Needless to say I did not fill out their crap.

Then after listening to your song with the volume up since it is rather quiet, here comes some pukin rock and roll bullcrap I did not ask to play that almost made my speakers barf with the outrageously overly compressed high volume. I'd pretty much bet that it was so compressed that the wav file looks like a big fat straight line.

No more. Shove it soundcloud. And that is how I feel about every site that starts blaring audio that I did not ask to hear through my system. Almost every where you go on blogs, political comment sites, or other places they think they have the right to bombard you with their audio crapola.

No, you keep ownership and those rights, but they keep the rights to do whatever they want with your uploaded songs with no royalty payments (you have to read the Terms and Conditions!) In other words, if your song suddenly became a platinum seller, they could take the version you uploaded onto their site and press it onto a CD and sell it with no compensation to you. Or use it on a video, etc. I don't believe they could resell it to anyone else though.

you guys did a pretty good job of being disrespectful to him early on.. as I recall, he came on here using this forum as others do, as I recall he posted about wanting to sign up acts and talent for his company.. it escalated from there with advice given to him that was not polite.. I am not pointing fingers, and I am not standing up in defense of anybody..I am just stating what I remember without looking at all the evidence.. maybe I am wrong but do not think so..
