mike, i can only hope you're saying that because you've never heard the trk w RG's drum and my bassline.

in no uncertain terms.....if MY bass playing ever sounds like keyboard bassline on this shoot me. (not meant as a slam at you mem) that's just not a tone or feel you're ever gonna hear from me.

likewise...i'm not gonna try to speak for RG but his drumming on the PASS AROUND Cm7 Blues bears uh.....very little resemblance to that drum machine pattern Mem is using on his trk.


the only thing these two different takes have in common is that uh....yeah...they are BOTH in Cm. any other similarities....i don't see any.

memphis....you wrote a song that has a jazzy feel in Cm7.

and yeah, i do hear how that melody line was inspired or suggested by what i played....but let me be clear, i learned nothing new about your skills or abilities to "jam" w anyone other than yourself.

hopefully at some point you might get into the actual "collaboration" aspect of what sometimes happens among some of the folks here. it's a big part of what some of us consider being a musician and participating in a Forum with other musicians.

Couldn't tell if you liked it or not from your short speech (not short enough). Funny that no one else has played on top of the original version since its creation. This was passed over, not a pass around...mainly because it had no standards for any musician to follow. If you knew structure as well as you know scale, the song would have had more add ons. You and rg made noise together, I made music.

You've got some work to do. Try a "go fund me" account, unless you can get someone to invest in you (besides me). Search for websites that can help you (for free) until you can afford to take the next step. This ain't a gravy train....more like a train for the gravy you got already. No gravy...no ready.

Your tune only shows us what you've already shown us....the same stiff programmed '70's Ramada Inn Lounge "music", played by a one man band lounge lizard, wearing a big collared huck-a-poo shirt under a leisure suit on his Casio work station.

If you wanted to change anyone's mind about your skills and your abilty to play w other musicians...you came up short.
