Since, there hasn't been too much interest elsewhere for adding additional ingredients, I'm considering adding some sparse mallets (maybe vibes....maybe marimba) in a cpl of spots. But since i already made one contribution I'm happy to hold off on that if someone else wants to don their apron.

Schmed....I know you have other things on your plate (ok...i'm done w the cooking/ingredient/recipe metaphors now) ...but let me know if you want me to hold off for now.

Thanks Planet, that driving groove just sucked me in.
I am fairly happy with most of it but the guitar solo is weak IMO. I am more of a lyrical player and my Prog guitar chops over a standing chord are pretty limited. I did about 10 takes and it got worse instead of better. I feel like it needs a little Satch or Steve Vai to put the icing on the cake. That and marimba or something similar and we just might have something pretty damn cool.

p'shaw! you sound great, man. but then again i'm not much of a fan over the top "stunt guitar".

it is funny how it works sometimes.....how the first or early takes are often our best work. and then w each additional one.....it only gets worse!


i'll wait to hear from schmed before i proceed w adding any mallets.

I just listened again and there is still a lot of room for other ideas in this one. Lots of repeated themes that could be developed further. Mallets, keys, horns, oh my...

Would love to work on this, but I'll never get it done in the near future. Enjoying listening to it, though.
