and this will no doubt suprise many here....but i am doing my best to approach his presidency w an open mind and i am hopeful (if more than a little doubtful) that he doesn't screw things up too badly. time will tell.

as for him bringing unity and less division to this country, i'd welcome that but just don't see it happening. the "ugly" genie of division is out of the lamp and it ain't ever going back in.

It will take a "UGLY GENIE" to fix 16 years of yours and the government screwed up lives. It will take heartless people for a short time to get America back to what it is suppose to be. Do your research on what a True American is spoken by a True American and you will see why you and people like you will become collateral damage. In the end when America becomes the great country it is suppose to be "no thanks to you or anyone like you" no real American will miss or care what happens to your like. I completely agree with that, Pete. But he is still just a man and history tells me that power corrupts men. I'm very hopeful about the possibilities for now...but call me a skeptic of anyone who wants to be a politician.

I'll be making a public apology about how badly I misjudged Obama if he actually leaves in January. I can't do that until it's over and the record is fact.

Trump seems to be (mostly) saying the right things about how he would govern. A lot of what he says would be compromised by the process, and he'll have opposition every step of the way. Guess we'll see how much of his word he keeps when it's over.
