there's enough there for Planetguy to write one of his "signature" bass lines.. once we get a string section, a pedal steel guitar and drums, bass maybe a couple -3 guitars it will fatten out nice, and we got to get John Michael Montgomery to sing it.. :)

right here, dayne.

as for me adding a "signature PG bass line"....i try to play for the song and what i hear the song needs.

if it's a jazz or fusion piece i might flex a little bit and play some stuff w some "personality" if there's not a lot going on from the rest of the instruments.....but if it's a simpler straightforward tune.....well, i'm going to play a simpler bass line w less "personality".

on a song like this...i'd be playing the latter. something very simple w lots of roots and fifths. that's what i hear working best w what you have here.

in other words, as i'm hearing it...your song calls for a very simple bass part that stays out of the way. it needs a bassline that hooks up very well with YOUR time concept and feel. that's why YOU should play the bass line.

i'd also strongly suggest you redo this to clean some things up.

and you really do need to pay more attention to the intonation/tuning of your gtr. sorry for the tough love, bro but there's just no excuse for playing an out of tune instrument. :)
