Sounds selfish to me. :(

Nah, it's more "self centered", and there is nothing wrong with that. That just means you look out for your own welfare, growth and fortunes. Being SELFISH, on the other hand, sucks. It is a denial that your acts are linked to all existence around you, and how they can have a negative effect on others. It is a social ill.

Ya know, as soon as someone starts talking about how much better thier way of living/believing is than mine, I lose all interest.

Belief, faith, trust, these things are the most personal items one carries around in his backpack in this journey through life. They are NOT things you wear on your sleeve, or carry on a sandwich board to boast "My god's better than your god!"

Once you begin to browbeat me with offerings of salvation, you lose me. If I walked into a bar & heard preaching, believe me, I'd go look for a different bar. If it was the only bar in town, I'd buy some beer to go, & then go.

To think, even for a second, that you have the means, the learning, the power, to assure my salvation, if only I'd be willing to listen to you, is the height of arrogance.

Unfortunately, this arrogance has ruined & destroyed the lives of billions of ppl who were forced to admit Jesus into thier lives, or Mohammed, or Kali, or whoever. Ppl have been enslaved more often than they were "saved."

It's no damned business of yours WHAT I believe. It's no damned business of yours who I worship. It's no damned business of yours whether my way is wrong or right, or whether I'm "saved" or not.

Leave me the hell alone on this subject, & we'll get along just fine.

So go ahead. Play your salvation music in all the bars you want to. But include this in your belief system -> I WILL NOT SUBMIT!!!! I will NOT listen!!!! I will NOT be swayed!!!! I will NOT be "saved" by the likes of you.
I have no more respect for you than you show me. If you cannot allow me to go through life without hearing your gospel, I shall remove you from my life using whatever means are necessary...usually this just means walking away, but I AM prepared to use other means if they are required.

I will remain my own man.

Ahh sh*t there's that buring smell again! I aint tryin to force anyone, why are people so defensive? If I suggested a movie would you say I was forcing you to watch? I was instructed by my Lord Jesus Christ to share the light I've found with others Key word (share) If you dont want your share then fine, leaves more for me!

LOL

Um...gee...can you tell that this is a sore subject for me?

If you can accept my indifference to your beliefs, as I said, we can get along just fine, as long as you don't persist when I've had enough. ( The cue that I've had enough is when I tell you I'm not into that, or I'd rather talk about something else.)

Jesus' greatest lesson, imo, was the "golden rule." Would you like me to try to convert you to my beliefs? I think not. So don't do it to me.

Every person has the right to be right or wrong on this subject...unless they're foisting it on another...then they lose all rights, as far as I'm concerned.

As far as that burning smell, sans, it's probably my wood stove...bad back-draft today.

If I should walk into a bar & heard a christian band, I'd be overcome by my ADHD, & be extra lewd & loud & drunk & obnoxious if I stayed...so it would be oh so much better if I left, don't you think?

And may your god help you if you try to stop me, or shame me into staying & listening to your message.

Like I said man I'm gonna share the light I've found. To not do so would be me not heeding that golden rule. And like you said God help the person who thinks they are going to stop me. But man to man, I can drink a beer with ya and talk about most anything.
That is the beauty of America, all anger does is foster division that could ultamatly lead to the fall of America.

Spanish Inquisitors used to want to share the light of Christ with others...unless they didn't want it, in which case they pulled out the thumb screws and burning stakes.

....in which case they weren't being Christians or following the bible or teaching from the bible. Just like if I said use the violin bow to play the piano!! I would be wrong just like the Spanish Inquisitors were wrong and don't represent the bible, Christ, or Christianity.

They thought they did, and so did multitudes or others at the time who supported them out of faith or fear (or both).

Good pont Dez, but I've found that there are quite a few musicians here who don't need much of a push to start evangelizing, so you're likely to see this stuff come up on a cyclical basis.

They mean well.

Yes, Irm, they DO mean well, & that just makes it worse for ppl who are happy with whatever belief/faith they have...like I said above, it's MY personal thing, so leave it be.

Oh...btw...HAPPY EASTER!!

Okay, I'm putting myself out at risk here guys, so please be nice...I'm a sensitive girl!

I am a christian and I have issues with religion & Catholicism. I agree with one of my favorite artisits, Bono, who said it better than I ever could : "I don't have any issues with Jesus man, it's the Christians I have a problem with!"

Koolmom78, no worries, no one will bite your head off, lol.

Look, everyone has different philosophies as far as religion is concerned. Now it sounds like Bono was saying he is not happy with Christians themselves, but has no issues with Jesus. Well, that is not unusual. Sometimes we have problems with how people just relay their messages and/or abide by them.

I know I have gotten into about 700 battles in chatrooms over religion, and it is a tricky subject. Being Jewish I notice people have a proclivity to launch attacks at me, which is some kind of fun game to them (In the chatrooms only though). I just tell them off using logic. The only way to fight religious arguments is with logic, because people forget to use it.

Also, you better know your stuff. I respect your opinion, and you have every right to feel that way.

So, once more, no worries about anyone launching an assault on you for the opinion.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Yea, those Christians are just a bunch of sinners!
Jesus was crucified for his opinion, I suppose I can take a little crap for mine.
