Oh yeah...Bassist in my last band liked my guitar better than his own but kept getting pissed when I refused to leave it at our drummer's place. I had my reasons (coughcokeusercough) and he refused to accept them. So last I heard was after I left, drummer pawned the guitar that our bassist had left there.

I was in a gospel rock group for awhile...they stole my guitar & amp.

My friend has a music store, & we're in a band together...the gutar player didn't have an amp, so my bud lent him one. The guitarist missed 3 gigs in as many years, so I fired him. The amp was not returned.

There's so much of this crap going around it's pitiful, but it also happens in other areas...carpenters lending out ladders & tools & getting ripped off...etc etc etc.

Pick your friends wisely, & keep an eye on yer stuff.

I had a big ole set of Peavey PA speakers, you know the ones that are bigger than a semi and sound like a semi. I couldnt sell these things or give them away. I loaned them to a little band 4 yrs ago. These guys show up at my house recently wanting to return these mammoth speakers. I guess I will just have a bonfire with the wood.

They looked really cool setting up on the stage back in the day though!
Some buddies of mine had some of those monsters, I thought they were awsome. In retrospect they sounded like crap.
