Hey there, I'm new to the Forum and I just wanted to post something. Possibly for the sake of posting...haha. I have one song on my profile so far. Admittedly, the recording wasn't that great and I was getting over a terrible cold at the time. But, my friend had offered to make the tape and he only had a small window open for me, so...I took what I could get.
Feel free to offer any feed-back. Hopefully I will get some better rescources so I can record some more stuff and put it up here. My hope is that I will be able to entice other musicians, but it looks so bleak in my neck of the woods...sigh...well, that's that. PEACE Y'ALL

I would advise you to tone down your self assessment of your talent until you correct this technicality. ( Your work will speak louder then your words )

NEVER ADVERTISE YOUR WEAK POINTS! ( it won't get ya' where you want to go)

Learn to use your equipment. ( That is a real asset that you have that you can use to your advantage to procure fellow people to achieve your goals)

Yea Cheryl, no music. Try again its gotta be MP3 format. and still sometimes I have trouble with it being sooo slow I have to take it down.

damn you do like to talk yourself up there night-singer...just for the record i dont think your anything special..if i hadnt read your profile and just heard your tune i would have given you a little more slack but when you say things like that about yourself you have to be able to back it up with your music...and this tune just doesnt strike me as being the work of an EXTREMELY talented vocalist or song writer....
and conceit is just plain conceit...selling yourself is one thing but saying your the sh*t when your not is just plain silly...

as for the song ....you have an ok voice your style sounds like alot of female singers...not very original and i cant make out what your singing, the guitar is way too loud and you seem to be hiding behind the guitar..
that is a trick many unsure singers like to pull...if you believe your as good as you think you are well stick the vocals right out in the front of the mix...than we shall see if your what you say you are.

Lmao, IA. Whoo, talk about right upfront about it - But that is always the best, never beat around the bush.

He is right, Night_Singer, you may want to take that off, it is true that you have to be confident, but cocky will make people walk away. I am listening to this piece you have, you have nice vocals, and they are more like a light Sarah Mclaughlin, combined with Sheryl Crow.

So anyhow, yes, keep going with your venture into music. But remember, never be arrogant about yourself, we do not need anymore divas, so to speak. Just say you think you have what it takes and have a nice voice, that should do it. Let the people who come to the profile be the judges.

So once more, your voice is nice, no it is not extremely amazing voice (Those are hard to come by, never seen more than one or two myself). But you should do fine with the voice you have, get some vocal lessons, make it even stronger, then maybe it will be astounding, you never know.

it is really hard to make the right choice anyway between modest and confident. It is really hard, because when you are too modest, that won't work either.

Maybe we should just cut each other some slack and be tolerant to each other since we all know the pitfalls.
When somebody's recording is not perfect (and that is hard unless you got a great budget and team with brains and style to sound AMAZING), isn't it like we all fricking understand that? Like f**k my videos were recorded with a minimic inside of a very old webcam and my vocals and guitar are on mini pc speakers with no bass, so anything that is not perfect can sound, well not perfect. There is a little mistake in every song. But also real nice pieces in every song. It is about the balance and the presentation, I think. Personality, style, song, POTENTIAL. Isn't taht what we all are looking for? We shouldn't put eacht other down here, we are all in the same boat because if we were all and amzing, we would all be famous right now, would we??

How well do you go singing and playing in just one take with a limitation budget wise or whatever wise?
So let's just help each other make each other feel better instead of worse.


I myself really do believe I have my own vocal and songwriting style (and looks) but no my live videos arent's perfect. But cool enough.

Being that Irish Anthony is a West Virginian Irishman, He's coming from a very real place. He was just sinkin' the dagger of truth a we bit deeper. You may come to appreciate his candor in time. I may add that at one time, I.A. posted an original song named"Before Colour T.V. in which he and his partner used nothing but audacity and his live voice and their instruments . Sure 'nuff impressed me.

i must stress that im not trying to discourage or disharten you night singer....not in the slightest..i know how hard it is to put yourself out there but if you only do one thing its be yourself..only you can do that..
dont talk yourself up but also dont make excuses for not being famous..
be yourself and sing your songs like your life depends on it...do that and you wont have to worry about your bio as your music will say it all...

as ive said you can sing and you have potential...
but when i read your bio i thought i was going to be blown away...

all i ever do is give my opinion on what i hear...no more no less, there is never any spite or offence intended.

Tried my hand at singing with the band tonight as Ray was out, ASPCA showed up wanted to know what we did with the bodies of the cats we were killin!! Anthony will give you his honest two cents worth. Gota respect that.

I just do not believe in being anything but confident in oneself. I am getting more and more confident in my playing now, how do I know? Well for instance, I played in front of people and my sister in the guitar store, and did not mess up so much like I used to. I can just feel that my nerves are no longer feeling fried when I play around others.

Well, that is my two cents.
