only two things you gotta know about being a successful money-making band (and HALEY knows this) gotta get 'em dancin' and you gotta get em drinkin'.. :) and if that tune on page 1 is not convincing you that it can make a dancin' fool ouutta the most awkward person around then you might want to be checkin' to see if you'uns have a pulse.. :D

THANKS SCHMEDDY, you might be the only one with some faith this thing is gonna fly.. maybe some of the others wish they had a dance band.. I just don't know.. thanks Planetguy, I know your advice comes from your wisdom.. I just wish it had come from your heart instead of your head.. like The Who states, "is it in my head or is it in my heart" off Quadrophenia.. :D

I received notification they want to do Highway Song in D?..is that key of D major or is that key of D minor? I don't think it can be successfully transposed to either one of those keys without it sounding alien sounding? what is your take Planetguy? the tune (and everybody plays it this way) starts out Em - C - D - Em -C - D - C - ( I say F#/D but others say
D maj.) - Em- B7..
so doing it in "D" would start how? :)

so the original Highway Song is in the key of E-minor, if they want to do it now in "D" I assume they mean key of
D-minor? which is a key 1 whole step down.. so if you start the song in the lowest sounding chord possible an E minor and you have to go down 1 whole step what can you go to? it seems the guitar is simply going to have to be tuned a whole step down and tuned with it self..simply tuned down from a 440hz -A pitch standard to ?..well, I guess that what electronic tuners are for , I will simply tune down, unless jook sees another way around this, Jesse is bitchin about he can't do it in Em key.. I say scrap the tune it is long assed anyg how, and never really did anything for me back in 1979 it is like a theme instead of a dance tune. :D

If they want to do it in Dm, it would be Dm - Bb - C. Changing to that key would probably be for the singer - lower, easier to hit the notes? You need a 5 string bass with a low B string, so you can hit the low D, rather than the high D.

yep, Mike, how will I hit that low D ?..with a 4-string? I am thinking tune the bass down 1 whole-tone and use that bass dedicated to that one tune..but need a 2nd bass for the rest of the tunage..
