Oh sure, people can stream unlimited without paying .... At least Bandcamp lets you limit the number of free streams you allow per user, and allows downloads of FLAC and WAV files.

Well you can upload wavs at bandcamp but the songs only stream at 128 kbps.

Does seem to me that your site doesn't care any more than corporate ones.........perhaps LESS??
Names don't mean a thing.
This just gives pirates a better copy to steal.

What are you even talking about?

At IMP they actually listen to the songs you upload.

He's talking about the fact that you get NO MONEY when people stream your songs there!

Who is "they"? People doing streaming are listening on their phone, earbuds, or in their cars while buzzing along at 65mph. The stream quality doesn't matter. But at Bandcamp, people can download full uncompressed files - if they pay for them.

Of course you can stream for free at bandcamp too. At IMP though they take no commission for sales, and on top of that the product with the ultrapage looks a lot cooler.

They means the site.

Not knocking your good intentions here but facts are facts and I can't ignore them.
I currently have six pirates stealing my music from audio streams and offering them as free downloads. These guys are definitely attaching malware to these free downloads.

The 128 byte encryption used by streaming sites does serve one purpose. It keeps pirates from stealing good copies of tunes from websites. The 320 byte encryption is much closer to the 1411 bit rate of a .WAV file and almost indiscernible except to the truest audiophile. The 128 files are often full of digital artifacts, noise and general crap.

Anyone w/teenage kids learns this lesson quickly. More times than not, free downloads lead to computer security breaches and oftentimes complete computer shutdown. Giving these people 320 byte files is only going to make the situation worse. I hope you can see my side on this issue. Musicians have been ripped off for too many years. The time is now to stop this BS. Hanging bait in front of these clowns isn't the answer.

Don't take this personally because I don't mean to offend anyone. Just telling it like it is.

They don't allow free downloads at I.M.P.

Jookey, theft isn't your problem, obscurity is. If someone is making money off your music, you need to hire them to be your manager, or at least study what they're doing and repeat it.

Actually I almost didn't get to the second page at IMP because the page link you provided looked amateur. Once I got past that, it did seem like a serious site...but that first page? Oy!
