I went to NOLA in 2000 a few weeks before Mardi Gras (by coincidence). We had a great time, visiting a lot of tourist attractions, tours, museums and all the restaurants my parents had been visiting most of my life. We were staying on bourbon street and spent some time at the Jax Brewery mall you're speaking of. I got a new Blackened Voodoo shirt to replace my worn out one my folks got for me in 92.
I would love to return someday, but I got no money and would rather visit Death Valley or Utah at this point in my life. But thanks for the invite.
The original owners of this restaurant were from your area, btw. Food hasn't changed since the new owners, either, so I say it's pretty close to authentic.

I don't see it. Probably doesn't work in the restaurant or the area.

it's probably like some of the rare ancient Japanese cuisine recipes that are so secretive they are only orally passed down thru the generations.. never written down as then it could be copied/stolen :D

PFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
In Port Neches??? Now I know you're full of it, Ted.
Bought a rust bucket '65 Mercury Cyclone from there years ago.
Someone had TOO MUCH Shiner Bock..........took out the buckets and installed a bench.
Installed long shackles on the back so he could install a trailer hitch!!! On a '65 Cyclone.

Damn dude. Buy a pickup, don't ruin a cool old hotrod.

Don't blame that on Shiner Bock when you smell like Flat Tires!??!?

And don't say the words "bacon" or "pork chops" within earshot of Glenny. That's a cute piggy, and so smart.
Heck, she smelled that Flat Tire and went running to the house.

Can't believe you're such a liberal beer drinker. Next thing you know we're gonna find out you're a cross-dresser too.

Oh, btw, at Catfish Kitchen in Pt Neches you get boudin & Shiner Bock with a side of blues. Always a great band out yonder.
