a reverse lookup appears to be based out of PANAMA .. ..jook we can't have them stealing our intellectual property

what's really strange, is they have schmed and planetguy on there too, and have us all mixed around in which I have some of your songs and schmed has some planetguy's tunes, etc. I can't understand who would give those guys facebook likes but I see they had several of those too.. I tried to do a reverse lookup but that is difficult.. they are either out of Panama or France best I could do..

I lost so much money buying downloads off buy.com the Digital Rights Management thing really was strong 7-10 years ago.. when I put my song files onto an external hard drive it corrupted all my tunes and when I notified buy.com they basically said tough sh*t.. now I seldom buy a mp3 download, but have been buying cds ..last being a replacement for my 8-track I had of Mott The Hoople Mott album, re-live my youth again I suppose.. but Mick Ralphs is cool guitarist and listened to his stylings many years.. w/ Bad Company too.. tasteful player

BMI pays performance royalties. Unless you (or someone you know) is playing your songs live or playing them on the radio, you won't get anything. And if you are playing them, you need to enter the details in their database. Interestingly, venues that have repeatedly ignored the BMI/ASCAP letters about paying for their licenses will eventually get blocked from the database - if you play your songs at them, you can't list them (so can't get paid).

As to these sites stealing music and offering free downloads - you can't stop them, except by not having your music out there at all in any streamable format. $0.99 is not much for a song, and you can even set a cheaper rate on Bandcamp, but the true fact is 90% of people interested in downloading music aren't paying for it. The other 10% are buying from their favorites.

I used to gets songs from songslow.com never had any malware viruses or any unwanted CC changes. The songs are low quality yes but they are free. People don't want lossless high quailty songs they want cheap. The less they spend the better. People who expect people to download songs and pay .99 cents A PIECE to have the song listen to on their computer when spotify gives them away for FREE to listen to on their computer are nuts. Free is the new business model for the music industry musicians need to capitalize on that business model. They can't expect continue making money with the pay to listen model when free it what is used by and large these days. They need to start selling something on than music. I'm thinking of opening and online tee-shirt business.
