Power is taken at the point of a gun in many cases. And power is taken through deception. Most power is plain and simply bought by either those seeking it or by someone seeking it through their elected puppet. Most politicians get into the game for power, after obtaining power they have the desire to go after more power, and after that perhaps money. I do not believe I have ever heard anyone say that they went into politics for the money, in fact most of the time it cost them a bundle to get into a position of power. Money is something that generally comes along with power but it was not the drive that put them there most of the time..

What's with the turn around? I thought this was political not corporate. And no, there is no "rub". Most of the time people are not united enough to even shut down any company. Give me a few examples where corporations lost "power" through the people as you say. Much of the time corporations only lost revenue either as their product became obsolete, or something better came along or their manufacturing turned to crap, or it became too expensive. I can't think of one where the people shut it down. Do you actually believe that you can take "power" from Microsoft, or Facebook or Twitter or Google? Just exactly how would you go about doing that? They have just banded together to take away our freedom of speech through their power. Shall we all just shut down our communications and Internet service to take their power and teach them a lesson? Lets take MicroSucks power from them. They sell us a product for $$$$$$$ then in a year they obsolete what we paid $$$$$$$$ to purchase so that we have to start all over again. Yes, we will all go into isolation to take back our freedom of speech. Just how many do you believe would go along with that idea? Face it. We do not have any power or we wouldn't be in the position that we are in today. They call that realism.

A good many wealthy people got rich pursuing something that they loved and money followed. Politicians desire power, and that is why they run for office. They run to change things as they see fit. They tell you what you want to hear to gain their power, and then they do what they wanted to do when they get the power, and then they all want more power. Where do you think these establishment types came from? Career politicians aren't in it for the money they love the feeling of being looked upon as being powerful. They have the desires of their father. Yes, even the devil ran for power and he took his electorate with him, one third of the angels turned their back on God..Power is a stronger desire in the powerful than money.

That's simple. If everyone bought McIntosh, Microsoft would go out of business.

That's why pure capitalism works better than any other economic model. The people decide who wins, and that changes when the people want it to.

BTW- why would an individual leave a successful business career to make $300,000 a year??
Congressmen, $175,000 a year?? Why do high ranking Senators quit and become lobbyist??

corruption & bribes

Congress quite often passes laws for the purpose of powerful Congressmen to reap windfall profits in the stock market....ignoring the will or benefit of the people who put them there.

The "naked machine" that TSA put you through, or the entire "green" movement are prime examples of Congressmen making themselves rich by changing the law.

Yes, Ted. I read it 3 times to be sure I didn't overlook something. I try not to 'skim' over a reply before I respond because that often leads to misunderstandings and misperceptions. But your verse of prophecy does not relate to the content of your post as I see it and this goes back to the point that I DO NOT want to discuss religion but politics. Being a political Moderate (or what you call a 'centrist') has nothing to do w/ being a mediocre Christian. Your analogy between R.E.O. Speedwagon and the political game is a good one and I think is valid.

One point you make I disagree - politics isn't driven by passion. It's driven by $$$ and the love thereof.

Ok, I will make it elementary for ya.

People need an emotional push to do something they ordinarily would not do. We are drawn to extremes. The middle ground does not motivate us to an action. When you LOVE something radically (hot) then you pursue it with a lot of passion (aka "lust")

When you HATE something (cold), you will oppose it with a lot passion (aka lust). But if you "like" or "dislike" something, it is much less likely that you will engage with any passion (lust)


Politics is pure lust. Maybe the purest.


That is why most people who will act are on the extreme fringes.

Where is your "they"only have the power "we" give them Where did the "I'm not involved with it" come from? If you are on this planet you certainly are involved with them. Where did the "we" go? You even removed yourself from taking back the "power" that we gave to them. That is my point. "We" can not even shut down the thought police. Remember a while back I posted an article about the thought police taking over the Internet by putting differing opinions on government policies in the back of the Google search results? Now they have gone into "thought police" mode and are determining if, in their opinion, what we think is dangerous to the political machine. Who is stopping that? The "we" that you mentioned previously? If everyone bought Macks instead of Microsoft isn't a dedicated "taking back power" example. It is more of what I posted earlier (Below) You did not address my questions in that post.

Generally political power is bought and paid for, not given. If you believe that the powers that be are made without money then you are living in a Pollyanna world. Soros and many other secret societies determine those who rule over us. (Actually all positions of authority are instituted by God and those offices of authority are filled by God)
Money buys power. The Gold standard is he who owns the Gold sets the standard.

So we disagree, but that is permitted. As Yod stated corruption is rooted in mans lust for something. But that's a rather broad brush stroke I would agree.

You can attempt to keep spiritual opinions out of this, but man was created a spiritual being and we are all subservient to either good or evil, without middle ground. Our motives are determined through the one we serve. Even the atheist believes in what he believes through the spiritual influence he denies exists.

Sarcasm sucks because it is a low form of humor mocking the stupidity of others. However it is very difficult to overcome the many probabilities that the average person is prone too. Hence, sarcasm.

Your first 2 points reinforce what I'm saying.
But your third point swings in the other direction a bit. Yeah, I understand the 'lust' angle but it isn't common to every individual. There are some of us who deny lust and the pitfalls that come thereafter.

You have a dirty mind and I'm not sure you understand the definition of "lust".

It is most often used in context of sex, but it's actually about overwhelming desire of any kind.


And I have made absolutely no religion comments whatsoever in your thread, though I quoted a bible verse that makes a point common to all people (secular & religious).

Regarding your outlook for the future, when the next major world war happens, I think it will be over in a matter of weeks if not days...and the world will be a very different place in what seems like instantly.

Then we shall see the face of globalism like we haven't seen since Nimrod.
