Moderation is a good thing. Any theologian, psychologist, philosopher will agree to this. So if this is a good thing, why isn't it practiced or accepted?? Why do people have to espouse an extreme view or belong to an extreme party??

I have two question before I can proceed:

Did you like REO Speedwagon?

Did you buy any of their albums?

.

Your answers were "no" and "no".......and "no", it is not a trick question.

The answer is in Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

The point is that REO Speedwagon had all the (basic) talent necessary to be a good middle-of-the-road band, that didn't offend anyone. You probably didn't hate them...you probably had no emotional reaction about them at all.

You also didn't crave their next recording, or spend any money on a concert ticket.

They were a good band....a decent band. In some ways, maybe even a great band at times....but they stood for nothing that made you passionate about them. They were milque toast average and though people "liked" them, they didn't LOVE them.

You would be better off as a band that many people absolutely HATE, than a band that everyone likes because passion is what sells music and it's also what drives politics.

So the people who care most about politics are looking for someone who has an extreme passion, which usually means they are more extreme about their views than other politicians. Bernie's politics are insane....but we already have socialism in America so he believes that it's time to be open and honest about it. I can respect that more than Hillary's brand of socialism that she hides behind euphemistic slogans.

So, if you really believe in big government taking care of you from cradle to grave, who is your choice....the pretender or the dogmatic clear advocate?

Trump's appeal is to the violent extreme on the Right who want to have a (literal) fight with the violent extreme on the Left. It's the Left who has kept pushing for a fight, and the Trumpies who really really really want to accept that challenge. That's why they don't give a sh*t about what his policies are, and don't notice that his policies change every few minutes.

The "centrists" are those who generally wait to see what each Party decides to trot out onstage before they decide which one is the most flexible person, which is why the presumptive candidates speak to their base (extreme) in the primaries, and then campaign to the center.

However, Obama has successfully polarized us like no one since Lincoln, so there are less and less centrists these days. (Not to be confused with moderates, which is a media term for latent liberals who are all voting for the socialist this season)

What you have left are the most extreme getting the most attention. Anything less than extreme would not be news, and left off of the front pages of New York Times.

Jook,

It had absolutely NOTHING to do with religion. The verse simply encapsulates what is true of everyone with the human condition. I'm not sure why you'd even say that, unless that was where you stopped reading.

Did you happen to read the rest of what I wrote?

Excellent thread and Posts excepting the Drug-Addict who has poor grammar amongst other deficiencies. JookeyMan it has gotten some very good responses, well done. For me it would be difficult to keep the two separate from matters of Spirit. Otherwise i would comment. Those that have for the most part demonstrate that they are a cut above the normal populations now it seems. I like it. Ta

"One point you make I disagree - politics isn't driven by passion.

It's driven by $$$ and the love thereof."

And on that I disagree saying not necessarily so. . Power is also a motivator as strong as money, and to some the desire for power is far stronger. Control freaks permeate this government and always have. The greatest desire of some is witchcraft, that being a desire to have control over others. Nanny-America wants to dictate your behavior from what you eat to where you live and to how much pop you can drink with your regime dictated proportioned meal. They legislate endless laws to control you. The quest for power by some can never be satisfied.

jookeyman wrote:I believe this is my first thread in this forum so go easy on me here. I'm not looking for a mud-slinging debate but I would like to see some serious discussion on this topic. I believe this to be true (or mostly true)- http://www.rooshv.com/youre-either-a-globalist-or-a-nationalist

I think this guy has hit the nail on the head. There are no political parties. There are globalist and nationalist. What are your views on this subject?? Knowing most of you on this forum, I can pretty well guess where everyone stands on this subject but there are a few that I would like to hear from because I am curious as to why someone would lean toward the globalist agenda.

I'm not looking for a fight or trying to stir discourse here but I want to hear positive facts to support globalism. If you are a 'globalist', I'd like to hear your viewpoints, not to judge but to try and understand this mentality. And please, no mud-slinging here. We are all adults so let's act like adults. No judgments, just discourse and let's leave religion out of this discussion because I know it will pop up eventually as it has a HUGE impact on this subject. But let's not go there. Let's keep this one on a philosophical level.

Globalist = paganism? Really? A bit dated, no?

Globalism? Nationalism? Are you serious JOOKEY? You just want an answer?
Every great building starts with a foundation. Every foundation starts with a cornerstone.
Then come the importance of every one of the individual blocks that build the foundation.
Nationalism... Do we have enough fingers to count all the wars that have come from that one.
Globalism... Do we have enough people to die for that one?

How about individualism... Tremendous personal responsibility, tolerance, and respect for all fellow men and women.

I know, I know... All our founding fathers were crazy optimists that mankind would GROW UP!
