Like I said in a earlier post my step pop is dyin The pain and hate from knowing that help some with lyrics and composing. But not finding relyable musicians to get a serious project started that really angers me.

I have zero regrets with the ads I place in local zines and on the web.

If i get a responce cool if not thier loss

OurSins, sorry to read about your Family hardship(s).
Like someone said in an earlier post, maybe instead of quitting, just take an extended break of 2 weeks or so; you won't believe the renewal of exhilaration, drive, desire, and most importantly peace of mind and freedom you'll feel when you pick it back up and wail away.

Me? i'm the Gods honest KING OF HIATUS...close to 18 years 2 Fender Jazz Basses sat untouched in my closet. It's not a long story of why either; couldn't find any musicians that didn't play the same exact thing they played 10 years previous, lost my drive, met a girl, had kids, and life went on.
When i finally did pick it back up it was love all over again, though i did feel ashamed for having stopped for all those years, i can't begin to image what i had missed musically in those years.
Anyhow, just keep trudging away (breaking through those barriers is what separates a musician of a higher calibre vs. a weekend Kum-bye-ya strummer). Best of luck to you and prayer for your Family.

Franny, I went through the same thing.
And I know what you missed.
You missed 18 years of experience playing your instrument . . .

My mother stopped playing violin, piano, and clarinet, about 25 years ago. I mean, imagine how good she would have been... All that time gone by and let go. I will never let my guitar sit down that long, I never want to lose that great learning time. As it is I feel I am getting very good, I am starting to tab things just by ear, and write technical pieces.

Heck, I am never quitting this instrument. Someone would have to kill me.

By the way, hey Franny, nice to see you again, I have not seen you in awhile. How's your back?

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

My mom was my first piano teacher. I remember her nails clicking madly on the keys as she tore through Chopin's "Fantasie Impromptu". It set my imagination on fire.

Later in life she just gave it up. I was always so sad about this but she seems to be fine with it. Oh well. Not everyone's "personal legend" is the same.
