on the farm, back before I graduated from high school, we would surgically repair ruptured pigs.. a ruptured pig would bring very little at the sale barn, so you would castrate them very carefully, cause insides would spill out if not careful, you would use a nylon string from the bottom of a pig feed feedsack as the suture.. and an ordinary large sized double ought??? sewing needle, forget now, maybe it was one of those leather sewing needles? and basically sew up the pig, to be used as a butcher hog, not sold to the sale barn, but slaughtered at around 200LBS.. side meat was excellent, don't recall ever smoking any of the pork, we did not have a smokehouse.. although Steinbach Locker in Chariton could smoke pork for you, but sidemeat is hard to beat, even though it ain't cured or smoked.. never have found sidemeat at the grocers.. it's always bacon or nothing else.. :D

you are most welcome, Glen! a fellow pig aficionado /enthusiast.. :D .. what's cool is a guy could probably make a good living, with basic surgical skills, moving to Iowa, running an ad in the local free penny powers, thrifty nickels, in the PIGS WANTED section, stating, .."WANTED: ruptured pigs.. paying top dollar for ruptured pigs".. call BR-549

the neat thing is once the operation has been performed successfully, that there is almost a 100% survival rate, since pigs have strong immune systems..AND the rupture shrinks back to a normal looking BARROW HOG>...no nuts.. :D and the stink that goes along with being a BOAR HOG, and the strong tasting, overpowering BOAR meat is done away, and as your successful 40 LB. barrow pig you gave 8 dollars for grows to a 200LB. FAT HOG, and then reaping fair market value at the prevailing pork market prices when you sell.. BIG MONEY.. trouble is when we used to farrow around 30-40 sows at a time, with a 7.4 pig per litter average 220 pigs in one batch, you might have 1 ruptured pig, maybe 2?.. so ruptured pigs will be hard to come by, as a small business plan? but Trump will no doubt fix that.. :D

hell, Jimmy Danger was not ashamed to talk about his love for his Father, so what have I to be ashamed about?.. I will never lose this most cherished memory of my Father,, when I turned 13 years old, and had already been doing all kinds of hours of farm chores, including, but not necessarily limited to, doing 3 hours of swine herdsman chores a day, since I was going to school also, would have been 5 hours a day just for swine herdman duties a day 7 days a week WHEN IT WAS FARROWING seasons, less when not.. also cocklebur pulling walking rows of field corn and soybeans, putting up hay, doing rowcrop farming activities like cultivating, moldboard plowing, discing, harrowing, etc. manure spreading(till they outlawed it in Iowa, at least spreading it on top of the ground, think farmers are allowed to "knife it in the ground" today)..but Dad gave me a little note a handwritten note, I guess to show his appreciation of all the "free labor" he was getting from me every year since around age 9-1/2..a note saying, for my birthday present I could pick a pig of my choice from the current litters ongoing.. it was a cold December 10th, 1968 in southern Iowa, but I will take that memory to the grave with me, it touched me so, to know my labor was appreciated enough to be given a "share of the profits" no matter how small a share.. I was eventually allowed up to 4 sows, and it built up my savings account substantially when I was 18 and graduating to try something different in life.. I wish now I would have stayed a swine herdsman/rowcrop farmer .. but it's water over the dam now.. :D

there were so many farmers that were financially ruined back in the late 1970's and 1980's.. crop prices were down, I remember dairy farmers dumping milk on the ground in protest of low milk prices.. Carter had super high interest rates, so, in order to borrow money , to get the year's crop in was nearly impossible to make a living farming, it was probably all planned by the Illuminati to drive the "little guys" with the 40 and 80 acres spreads off the farm so they then could run in and scoop up their farms for chicken feed, yeah that's right, there was a time you could buy good tillable Iowa farmland for peanuts.. the days when the powers that be were deliberately setting commodities prices corn, soybeans, pork, beef, so low and then have the exorbitant interest rates at the same time drove many farmers to town..now, look at what northern Iowa prime farmland is selling for?,, it is not possible to buy good tillable land for cheap like you could in the 1980's..the world as Jesus said is a corrupt and evil place ruled by the devil..

"So the government paid twice for this land."

That was really good Dayne! I'm starting to like you...

I never wanted a pet pig. Now I realize what a valuable food resource they are. I have done the homework. Without bacon, this country would not exist... sh*t I meant pork. How many politicians are only concerned with bringing home the bacon, no matter how much pork is traded off in a legislative bill?

 I have to laugh... Some of this is just to funny to be taken seriously.

PIGS RULE!!!

thanks Glen, sometimes I have pigs on my mind, more than I wish sometimes..disgusted to think if Hillary gets in, she will let the pigs keep sucking on the sow, willing to let them keep sucking and eating at the trough, in exchange for their vote.. cause she is on some sort of power trip at taxpayers expense...
