Ted - I woke up many years ago. I knew the press was lying to us 30 years ago but couldn't prove it. People have been telling me I'm full of it for that long...now some of them are realizing I was right...the press is a bunch of liars.

I've also been saying a lot of the same things Trump is for that long. I know you disagree, and that's cool with me, but I've always had an instinct that has proven to be accurate ever since the day Kennedy was killed. I saw LBJ do his first speech on TV that night, 8 years old, said out loud "he's a liar". My father jumped all over me for saying the President was a liar...I didn't even know what a president was. I just knew this old fart was a liar. Same for Hillary. First time I ever looked at her picture I didn't know who she was, I had to look at the caption, first thought in my head was "this woman is EVIL"...Ditto for Bill, I knew he was a liar, I hated Obama the first time I heard a campaign speech, in 30 seconds, I knew Nixon was a crook, knew Bush was lying about going into Iraq...Cruz fooled me for once, but I think he originally had good intentions and was only recently pressured by the GOP elites into doing their bidding. Hey we're putting up all this money...

And Cruz didn't shut down the government, Harry Reid did when he blocked the budget bill already passed by the House. Which he did around 380 times, resulting in the fallacy pushed by Obama that we had a "do nothing Congress". No, we had a hog tied Congress. Reid had 380 bills sitting on his desk when he was booted out in 2014. Congress was trying, Reid was keeping them blocked and the Obama admin was lying to us the whole time. Cruz wasn't afraid of a shut down, but he didn't actually do it himself, that was an outright lie.

Anyway that same instinct tells me Trump is telling it straight. Yeah I know he has friends some people question, like Boehner, who doesn't? Rudy Giuliani has been his good friend for many years too. I recent;y saw a video clip of an interview Trump did in the 80's, he said the exact same thing then as now about trade agreements. Almost the exact same words...I know he's made some inflammatory comments, and some I'm not a fan of, but in general, I've been convinced he wants what's best for this country since before he even announced. Just because he donated to Democrats doesn't mean everything, and doesn't mean he can't change his position. Reagan did too. He was a hardcore Democrat for years. And became the most popular republican president ever, aside from Lincoln.

Jook - As usual I can't find much to disagree with in your comments, I mostly see you bringing up a lot of valid points, even if I do disagree at times. I especially liked your comments about his foreign policy speech, I thought it was very good.

I do think you may be wrong about him trying to write off his campaign finances...You may be right, but I doubt it.

All in all, I see things I'm not a big fan of, but I think Trump is being up front with us. All the stuffed suits calling him bigot, racist and such are grasping at straws, hoping the public will eventually start believing a press they no longer trust. Good luck. Look up how Trump reacted at the Republican debate when Ben Carson didn't hear his name called. Is that the way a racist acts? Look up what happened at his golf course in Palm Beach. Is that a racist? Not a chance.

I might be wrong but I don't think so. My spidey sense kicked in long ago, I can't really explain it, but it's been right too many times. Oswald was exactly what he said, a patsy. I don't know WHO killed JFK, but Oswald was a fall guy. Hillary is a serial liar, crook, and worst thing that could possibly happen to this country. Even worse than Obama, which I didn't think was possible...The only thing Bernie would do is kill the economy quicker than she will. As someone said, Cruz is a slimy politician. At first I was a big time Cruz fan, until he joined the stop Trump establishment. He lost me the first time he said stop Trump. I don't even want him to be Trump's VP any more...I'm not sure who now...

Good debate guys, interesting reading. My mind has not changed, probably will not. [to go off topic] And all the protesting is only going to help Trump. It's sad to see people being beat up, police cars destroyed, rioting, but I have to laugh at these bozos, history hasn't taught them a thing. Start inciting violence, you drum up support for your target.

If you don't know that Bush was a blue-blood liberal RINO then I can understand the attraction to Trump. I think W was three times the conservative of his father, but not conservative enough. Didn't every member of W's cabinet come from daddy's band? How does this qualify Trump as an outsider again?

I'm a red meat conservative when it comes to how a capitalistic economy should be run. No compromises with liberal marxism. Ever.

Jook - All good points, and I've seriously considered things in a similar light for a long time. No, I don't think you're paranoid or freaking out or whatever, I'm very skeptical of all politicians and have been for a very long time. As I said in my last post, all or most of them are liars, I haven't seen a president I liked in my lifetime. Didn't like either Bush, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, despised Clinton...some were better than others, but all contributed to the downward trend of the country in general. Call it conspiracy, I don't think they are actually in control. Trump just might break that trend. He's the first one I've seen who actually has a spine, speaks his mind instead of whatever his handlers have scripted, and has actually created jobs, finished projects on time and under budget, and dealt with real world issues rather than a lifetime of government corruption, which is our only other option.

I know a lot of people consider it to be way out there conspiracy stuff, but I've been pretty convinced for many years our presidents have all been controlled by the same small group of super rich individuals, rich enough to mostly keep their names out of the papers, which is why both parties have run things and the country has gone steadily downhill. Every president since LBJ has left us deeper in debt. No exceptions. Obama has more than doubled it. I can't think of one who hasn't lied, either occasionally or perpetually.

One thing I think people are wrong about. The two dominant political parties do have different goals and ideals, but those actually in control blur the distinctions, they are both controlled by the same group. Democrats believe in big government, more taxes, more regulations, Republicans believe the opposite. Democrats have historically voted against civil rights, all the way back to the civil war, Republicans freed the slaves and eventually got the civil rights bill passed. LBJ didn't like it, didn't want it, but he saw it as politically expedient, Democrats would have the black vote in their pocket for many years to come. He had voted against anything that resembled civil rights as a senator for years and said "I'll have those niggers voting Democrat for 200 years." Signing the civil rights bill was a political move, not something he wanted to do. His "great society" was the same. Tie up the black vote for generations.

I'm no great fan of Republicans either, actually I think both should be disbanded and we should start over. It would develop into the same thing again, but a reboot might help for a while. My main gripe with republicans is they have caved in to political correctness, and haven't had the backbone to stand up to the opposition.

Ted - Yep, I mean read my lips Bush. Didn't like the guy at all, just pointing out that Trump has been supporting Republicans, not necessarily conservatives, for longer than the media wants us to believe. And has had a similar opinion on trade for a long time, this is not a new position. I've always thought both Bush boys were not nearly as good as presidents than many believe, and Bush the reboot lied so he could finish what daddy started in Iraq.

And I've always thought it interesting that our politicians make themselves multi millionaires, but let the country go broke. I don't think Trump will do that, he'll do things the same way he does with his business. He didn't become a multi billionaire by spending more than he earns...like our government has for many years.

Look at his tax policy. I only have one disagreement, I see no reason anyone should pay a higher percentage of income tax than another. If 10% is acceptable for $25,000 - 50,000 per year, it's acceptable for 10 times that amount. The dollar amount will be a different story. But it's the other areas that will also make a difference. Cutting back or eliminating write offs and tax shelters, drop the death tax, simplify the tax code, limit government spending...that sounds more like a business plan than a politicians line of thinking.

I've always believed LBJ was involved in the Kennedy assassination. I've seen very few people who really believe it. They give it lip service...the best theory I've seen is that it was carried out by the Mafia, with CIA help, and most likely LBJ had his acceptance speech in his pocket the day it happened. Why was LBJ not in the same car with Kennedy, as usual? How did someone know the exact parade route in advance? Oswald was not that good a shot, and I've seen professional marksmen try to get off 3 rounds in that same rifle in under 6 seconds, it can be done but not with any accuracy...Try to do it and hit a target that size every time, no way.

In addition to that, one investigator got the round fired by that rifle, drilled a hole in a model skull the right size according to the autopsy report, the bullet would not fit on the entry hole. It had to be a smaller caliber. X rays taken showed tiny metal fragments inside the brain cavity, that was suppressed.

Kennedy put his brother Bobby on as Attorney General. He went after the mob with both barrels blazing, put several mafia bosses in prison, deported Carlos Marcello. They were all not happy. Especially after his father, Joe Kennedy had a meeting with the head guy in Chicago, who he knew from his bootlegging days during prohibition, Illinois carried Kennedy by a landslide. Nobody knows how much money changed hands, but those guys never do anything unless they profit. Then JFK bedded down a mafia boss' ex girlfriend. Bad move, he still considered her hands off. IN a taped meeting(FBI wiretap and surveillance) attended by Marcello and Jimmy Hoffa, they wanted to knock off Bobby, I think it was Hoffa who said cut off the dog's tail and he can still bite, cut off the head and problem solved. That's from a FBI tape made not long before it happened.

Lots of other things point to mafia involvement, and association with mafia people by a number of politicians, Marcello ran Louisiana entirely. Oswald was only peripherally associated, he had an uncle who was a small time bookie. He was exactly what he said he was, a patsy, a fall guy. Someone else did the actual deed.

According to another book I read, by a cop who tracked down the actual killer overseas, Oswald thought he was working for the CIA, and was supposed to just take a couple of pot shots around the car and scare Kennedy into paying more attention to his security. The actual assassin was supposed to take out Oswald as well, but the police and secret service never fired on Oswald, which was intended to cover his shot when he took out Oswald. He was in the Dal Tex building and said he had Oswald in the crosshairs and couldn't take the shot, no cover fire. I can't find the book, I think it's called Appointment in Dallas. Written by a cop who wrote two or three of the training manuals used in police academies, one of them on interrogation, worked with FBI and CIA on cases, and was called in to fix problems at police departments all over the country. Very impressive list of credentials...it also listed out all the associations of all the people involved, Jack Ruby's telephone calls, he was on the phone with mafia bosses all over the country until a couple of days before it happened, then dead silent...very interesting book.

The other good one is The Dark Side of Camelot, about the personal and political side of JFK before and while in office. Only a couple of pages about the assassination, it's about the person and President instead. LBJ blackmailed him to get the VP seat. They hated each other, LBJ was nowhere on the list of people JFK and Bobby put together to choose from. Bobby called him an ogre. He demanded a meeting at the last minute, a half hour later he was VP pick, to the surprise of everyone in DC, it was common knowledge Kennedy considered LBJ to be the perfect example of everything he hated about DC politics.

I could add more, or get out the book, look up some more details and make this a really long post...I'll always believe LBJ helped plan it.
