patience is a virtue, picked up a tobavcco jar with pipe stand could be called a humidor I guess but since the jar does not have one of those ceramic de-humidifier thingies on it, I will settle on tobacco jar.picked it up at Roberts Livestock Pavilion in Bolivar a few Saturdays they have a consignment auction on one side of the yard and allow vendors to set up for 6 dollars on Saturdays..Billy the Cowboy had a neat boat anchor and this jar Pipe stand along with several stems and 2 pipes he let it go for 10 bucks, but the jar lid was missing a knob or finial..already sold the 2 pipes for 6 bucks ea. so I have a free 25 dollar boat anchor and this jar & pipe stand, but it did not have the finial on top of the wood lid and it was a lot rougher but some tung oil has livened it up, and pricing finials on ebay was scary cause of the prices everybody wanted, patience, patience, along comes an auction 2 Saturdays ago and a whole box of finials comes up and snag them for 5 bucks on a side deal off the guy who won the group lot of stuff all lumber & cabinet supplies related.. that is 4 LBS. 11 OZ. of finials..
well, spent a couple hours cutting one of the finials down trimming off the ends, sanding, oiling, drilling a pilot hoee, screwing a wood screw onto the lid with the finial, and now I have a tobacco jar lid that is a lott better shape.. it's what I did this morning on a beautiful sunny day, and set up the bench outside to enjoy the sunshine rather than in the shop..

Thanks for that Dayne. We all have to be careful that we don't get to far away from the fun things in life. A smile, a handshake, a little bit of concern.

That's a fun thing... Thanks.

That's the 2nd time in as many weeks that you have made some snide comment JOOKEYMAN. This was about something fun.
You have done it before and I have just ignored it.
I was just replying to something fun that DAYNE was posting... Does anyone feel that was an offensive post?
In response to your question JOOKEYMAN, I will ask you another...
Do you you have a problem or are you just looking for one... I'm trying to keep this nice, we don't have to do this.
Have a good day.

I agree jook that some Danish free form pipes are worth 100 bucks and more, but not a well smoked Medico with a lot of cake in it, and we all know how sharply ebay has dropped off.. you start a pipe at 6 bucks(auction) and in today's ebay it just might bring 6 bucks, especially w/ all the glitches at the last few seconds of an ebay auction.. ebay has been my employer for the last 10 years and allowed me to work in my pajamas so I am not going to complain :D
