Guitar Mike has talked about song pirates stealing there, I already got several followers almost it seems too quick?..hopefully they truly like the two tunes I have uploaded and that is all..it seekms like one of the easiest ways to get ripped off..posting tunes.. I would not mind somebody stealing them and publishing them after cleaning them up, but with my luck I would never hear them being played to get my fair share off somebody who stole my tunes and dressed em up a bit.. putting lipstick on a pig makes me think how pretty her eyes were with the pearl necklace LMAO.. :D

my willie wrote:dayne people will steal anything you post. I had songs stolen here by someone. I made 0.0000000 dollars off of them but the thief got rich. and I even paid 14.95 way back when for a POS premium bandmix account. Contacted them about the supposed theft and they said since anyone can listen to your songs that there was nothing they can do. I have been posting my drivel and bs on their forums ever since. The sooner this unsecure site gets shut down the better. same for reverbnation soundcloud, and bandcamp. 2 views means that TWO people could have stolen your song. Contrary to popular belief if you have a really good song (not like the ones I say suck on here all the time) views are not a good thing each view is a potential thief who is going to profit from YOUR song, and since YOU gave them easy access to it there is nothing copyright law can do for you sadly. The best thing to do with your songs is to record them to CD send them certified mail to publishing companies and wait for the royalty checks to come rolling in. Which if you have a really goo song they will!!!

hire a good lawyer, and hope to get justice my willie, sounds like you are saying you can prove your tunes were stolen, complaining to bandmix or soundcloud is not going to cut it? is it? if you had your songs protected should be not a problem in proving who truly was the creator of them? also consider yourself fortunate that you were blessed with the talent to have good enough songs that were deemed good enough by a thief to grab them, and get busy writing more tunes.. i'm 60 years old and over the hill, so I do not have aspirations like when I was young and overly enthusiastic on how easy it would be to "make it" in the music industry.. I at now a later age, am now more prone to think, you make it in the musical industry because of WHO YOU KNOW, rather than what you know.. also it is pure luck if you ever get a chance to rub shoulders with real power to distribute your tunes and create the HYPE and BUZZ necessary to get millions flocking to buy your records.. talent almost does not have anything to do with "MAKING IT".. this is all my humble opinion of course and not necessarily backed up by scientific facts.. :D

You're an idiot Kerry/Willie. Anyone can steal songs from any site that streams on the internet. Its as easy as setting up your DAW/recording software to record from the signal fed to your soundcard (which in this case is from your browser). Then save, it upload it and its there for all to grab.
Point us to these supposed stolen songs, and tell us how someone 'got rich' from them. I call 'BS' on this. If you copyright your music, and register it with a PRO, you are covered that way.

"Private" on Soundcloud just means that it won't show up in your profile's song list - someone has to have the link to the song. They can still stream and record it.

it is like The Wild West on SoundCloud jook, full of 25 Cent Cowboys :) thanks for the heads up, but are we sure that character is a thief ? and what is "it's" handle name? it would be nice if DRM did not fade so fast into oblivion.. surely some tech co. could have come up with some sort of ID tag for low end users like me to use that would embed into our mp3 or wav or whatever file you choose as like a cattle brand or something to help protect us, chances are we will never hear our tunes being played somewhere in the world, the thief making money off our ART.. :)

jook, new to soundcloud and not quite accustomed to the layout and "controls" so could you help me figure out how to get rid of the player that shows up at bottom of the page? I absolutely see no X there to cancel it out? I've tried refreshing the page to no avail.. see absolutely no way to kill it off once it starts playing.. TIA :o

That's annoying, that it will play music for the rest of eternity, if you let it. Plays while you're on other sites, too. Which is both good and bad.
