Pretty sweet, Mike. I thought the production was decent-there are times when the ONLY thing I can hear is the guitar-but still not too bad. I like the groove of it, although it seems a little repetitive. I've personally never been a huge fan of guitar instrumentals, as they have never "spoken" to me the way a vocal project does, but there's no denying that, even at that age, you knew how to make the guitar talk.
Great playing, man. Good job.

Yea dude.. Mike kills. I was nowhere that good at 17. Mike's a good example of someone who just has good old fashioned raw talent.

I like how there's this bluesy thing going on, then there's a little sweep mixed into the lead (right around 2:14). It kinda lets you know that there's another dimension to him musically. A Blues purist probably wouldn't like something like that, but I do, I like that kind of thing.

As always, I dug it Mike.

You know, it's not often that someone your age gets compliments like these from us old schoolers. But you do deserve every compliment you get. It's been more than once that I've gone to your profile and started at the top, and listened to all of your songs while I work on my equipment. I can just get lost in it and re-wire a guitar or some sh*t. Just keep doing what you're doing. I think you're gonna reach whatever success you set your mind to. You already have the talent and the skills. Now it's just all about which direction to go.

Mikey,
I actually did record with a 16 year old guitar player about as good as you not too many years ago, when I was playin' with "Wild Bill and the Back Seat Drivers". His name was Lee.

My fist guitar player back in the 60's was a Strat wielding' 14 year old named Billy (I was 16 at the time), and he was good enough too Rock the old Mount Airy Lodge hard for good money.

I can recall jammin' out with a 17 year old G.E. Smith on the Blues Project song "Wake Me Shake Me" back in 68 to a packed house in the auditorium at the Pleasant Valley High School. (We attended Stroudsburg H.S., class of 69)

Truth is, we were all young once, and were standin' on the shoulders of giants, but that in no way diminishes the fact that you can play the blues about as good as can be played, and are in a position to move your art to new levels. The respect that you have garnered on this forum by such seasoned players as Shreddin'Ted, and most all the rest of us, is based solely on your proficiency on your instrument. They are well deserved compliments. To people who know good playin' your recordings are a delight to hear.
Now just don't get too big of a swelled head!
John

Thanks for the nice compliments guys. Howlin, no big head here because I actually get embarrassed by such high remarks on my playing. Take care!
