Not only the Beatles, but he revived Jeff Beck's career and produced his finest albums, imo
One of my favorite books that I've read was "All You Need is Ears" by Sir George. Everyone should read it to understand how much of the Beatles success was Mr Martin.

so much more than a "producer"....he was an amazing arranger.
if you want to hear how much his arranging was responsible for the Beatles sound...listen to the instrumental tracks he composed and arranged on the Yellow Submarine album.
there are no Beatles playing on them, but i defy anyone to listen to them and NOT hear The Beatles.

Best Pop producer, yes. By all means.
But Sir George's 'groundbreaking production technique' is over-hyped.
It was done before by another individual.
I don't think technique had much to do with his success. It was his knowledge of music more than anything else. He could hear what others couldn't imagine. He wasn't afraid of taking risk to find something no one else had considered.

Like any artist endeavor, beauty and excellence are a subjective opinion. But you can't judge someone by what came afterward, but rather what was there before they disrupted it.
A Producer takes all the elements from beginning to end and makes them into a artistic symphony. It's dealing with the label, choosing personnel, recording, mixing, mastering, arranging, writing, etc.
There were none finer at that than George Martin. Ever.
Don't know what you think he was given too much credit for, but I don't think it's possible to give him enough credit for being the finest at his job. He set a new standard when he combined his knowledge of classical music to rock & roll.
All time greatest.
