Jook and Billy, I am 57 years old. The Gulf Freeway I-45 has been under construction my ENTIRE life and STILL IS. I have traveled that highway since I started driving in 1974. I went thru a divorce last year and moved to a town where I don't have to drive that freeway anymore. 70 miles an hour all the way into work. My profile still says Houston because that is where I am from. I have lived in the Burbs since the late 70's. I still work in Houston. Houston just elected a new mayor who's top priority was to fix the pot holes. His first week in office he brought breakfast to the city of Houston road repair crews. The new Mayors name is Sylvester Turner you guys might recognize the name he was a city councilman and has run for mayor seems like forever. A good man for a democrat! :D

Jeff - Gulf Freeway...is that the part on the north side of town? I can't remember. I lived between 59 and 45 about 1 1/2 miles from the airport in 1990 or so, drove south 45 toward Galveston a few times but very little on the north side, a few times to go to an open mic just off 45 not far inside beltway 8. Other than that rarely used 45 on the north side. Most of my roaming was on the east side around 59. Lived off Aldine Mail Route. I think the jets were still under 1000 feet when they went over my place...That's where I got my Peavey MX and Fender Champ. ever go to the White Elephant flea market? That's where the Champ was sitting for $8, no tubes or speaker. Just played it a couple of hours ago, still works great after a rebuild. The MX came from a resale shop off 59 and Jensen area, used it onstage for 15 years. One of my biggest mistakes was trading a Lotus Les Paul copy for a Epiphone Strat copy at another flea market, bad move...I loved the Lotus, but was tired of the heavy bastard. The Epi turned out to be impossible to keep in tune. Finally traded it for the Squier Strat I have now, it turned out to be my favorite guitar.

Jook, I haven't been through that part of Louisiana since I left there in the late 80's, drove over the Atchafalaya quite a few times, and from Baton Rouge area to new Orleans a lot too. Played on Jackson Square a few times during Mardi Gras, my sister and I would take her 2 daughters, spend the day. I would play all day and pay for the trips, they roamed the quarter and watched parades. That Ponchartrain Bridge is one long sucker...I drove it every day when we went there so I could play, but it paid off, 8 days and I cleared almost $300 after paying all expenses and giving sis $10 a day so she could get lunch and munchies for the kids and she never had to spend any of her own money unless she wanted to, usually we'd bring a cooler with lunch stuff, I covered smokes and parking, gas, still cleared that much. Yeah you could still get lunch for 3 for under $10...without going to McD's...Last time I made the trip down I-10 from Baton Rouge to Texas was about 5 years ago. Mostly not bad but that one stretch of road just outside BR was serious corduroy, bounced us to death. About 20 miles, I thought it would never end..

And by the way, Trump just walked away with Michigan and Mississippi. Rubio looks like he's suckin' hind tit real bad...under 10% in both

Since we are going a little off topic Jook. If you have the time, go and listen to some of these great musicians.
The list is very long and there are many I couldn't even begin to say thanks for sharing. Many you, have missed out on because of whatever...
I will go in a slightly different direction. Jimmy Danger. Most think I hate him. His music is not from my old dinosaur school. Not my favorite style. No matter. But I do appreciate all the hard work he has put in to his music.

My point is you should understand that all these musicians offer a very interesting road to travel down...
Thanks guys, for being who you are!

OK I had it reversed, couldn't remember what the local nicknames were for the two. I haven't gone the Galveston route since probably 1991 or so. As I said earlier, a few short trips on 45 north just inside the Beltway for open mic nights, that's it.

Possibilities and IF's ...if Trump is elected and the possibility of him not being assassinated by the Evil that rules this Dying World ... and if he therefore is able to institute his policies and "Campaign Promises" ... then I believe that Mexico will indeed finance such a Wall. The puppet Fox along with all the other so-called Presidents of Mexico are nothing but trained monkeys to the UEA INC. and will do whatever they are told to do. The wall will be built at any rate, if not by Trump then by one of the Evil scum of this thing called the NWO and it will be made to keep people or what then passes for people in. Unlike the Black Messiah, Trump would keep his Campaign Promises I firmly believe. All the rest of the pantie and bed-wetting political filth of the world share my belief ... this is fear inspiring to them and they are getting more and more desperate to shut him down, one way or another. This is why the Hag is doomed and The Black Messiah will suspend that false performance known as Elections due to an "Emergency". Look at the "Laws" which have been put in place now ... forget the election and prepare for what is coming. Of course I hope I am incorrect but I think not.

I trust Chameleon trump as far as I can throw him, and the "White Witch of the South and the "B" word are both a death sentence to quasi-free America.
Hmmmmm
Poison or a bullet to the back of the head. What wonderful choices have been set before us.

I'm not drinking any Kool Aide... If you come to take my guns... You better bring yours.
The alternatives are coming down to another special interest politician, a law breaker, and some old guy running around the country screaming free beer for every one... OR... Some one protecting his wealth in the name of protecting MY COUNTRY.
Frankly, free beer for everyone is tempting... As long as it is done with some one else's money.
What a mess. George is rolling over in his grave.
I hope this engendered some thought instead of just going woooosh.
