Whether you are busking or gigging - until you get to the 'concert venue' point (can be any size from 100 up), cover songs is the only way you'll make any money. If you're doing it for the love of YOUR music, then by all means play what you want. but don't expect the money (even busking) to come rolling in no matter where you are located. Sad fact, but true.

Rain much in the Midwest?
How does an acoustic guitar sound when it's wet?

I guess it's my devout belief in eastern mysticism and Buddhist doctrine and the like. :D . a loincloth, a bow,l and a cave , is all that is necessary in this temporal existence.. to become one with the Absolute is the goal.. :) articles of material possessions are only to be used as barter for the little money I need to get by..troble is the world is trying harder year by year to make peasants conform to the CONSUMERISM ideal, I got news for them, I ain't ever going to conform tho the NEW RELIGION OF CONSUMERISM! :D (I have owned a 1968 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop and a 1971 Gibson ES-335 many years ago, even had a real tube-type Marshall head with cab once, the ones you can't touch nowadays for less the 2 grand :D

I'm going back to that track soon and do some minimal fills w/ bass and percussion but it will be VERY minimal. I'm glad this thread popped up again. Now I won't have to hunt the progression down for 15 minutes!! I think the bass fills will be the 5ths I left out the first go round. Maybe a cowbell and a cowhorn thrown in for authenticity!! :D

i look fwd to hearing that. 8)

Marky-

Finished the re-mix. It's uploaded here on my profile. I used the bridge PU on the J bass w/ full treble on to get a tenor guitar sound and played the 5th notes (2-8s + 2-16s) on the highest fret on the neck. Added cowbell and bongos in spaces. Still left a bit of silence so not to change the vibe of the #.http://www.bandmix.com/jookeyman/

i like! the additional parts kind of helps ground things w/o getting too busy and in the way of the loose and spacey orig feel.

BTW- you'll be happy to know I re-mixed our 3 way collaboration W/O reverb!! Thought that would make you a happy camper! Only wished you would have mixed the guitar a little louder. I had to tinker w/ the EQ and add a tiny bit of very quick delay to get it to jump out a bit but I'm happy w/ the overall tone. It's a dry delay. No reverb or echo.

cool deal where can we hear it?

...and glad to hear you didn't have to build an ark!
