Do you at least get to carry a blade? I know the Israelis aren't as wise as they should be about carrying guns.

I saw a few photos several years ago of Israelis carrying Uzis to work. They walked down the sidewalks w/ them strapped to their shoulders. This isn't common near the West Bank?
You can't go anywhere in Israel without seeing these beautiful kids with their enormous guns. I sense absolutely no fear anywhere in the land, but I
have been carrying my camera stand strategically. The blues bar where I'm hanging in the evenings (Mike's) was packed like nothing had happened....only a mile down the road. In fact, that's where I found out something
had happened. When I searched the story, I found out it had happened in the very parking lot I had been in only a few hours earlier. This isn't a big place, really.
I left that parking lot earlier to go shoot a VR of where David fought Goliath, and the Valley of Elah is not a big place either. I was within a football field of where it happened and had to go hiking down into the valley to find the brook where David got 5 smooth stones (because Goliath had 4 brothers).
Then dropped a friend off at the airport, headed back to Tel Aviv and dropped off the rental car. At the rental car office, I heard a radio report that mentioned something about "Philistine" but it's in hebrew and I didn't understand what they were saying. There were attacks in Jerusalem and Petah Tikvah today also.
Had I been keeping that car another day, I would have gone back to that same parking lot at the same time this was happening because it's the only free parking on the beach where I'm staying for another week. My hotel is right next to the US Embassy where security has been high because Joe Biden came in yesterday at about the same time.
And it's no more than a quarter mile from where I narrowly missed a suicide bomber at the Infinity Club (Dolphinarium) on June 1, 2001 because my ride was late picking me up. That one is still the worst terrorist attack of any intifada attacks.
