did you record that recently?.. is it 2 tracks of guitar overdubbed or another player/collaborator playing with you doing it in 1 take? is it an analog recording? it had a eastern like feel to it, like Turkish or something. maybe Hungarian folk song? liked it a lot.. :D

did you read up on copyright law? I always thought it was good for 50 years?.. and even if the copyright is still valid, you could have contacted the estate of Luke The Drifter and worked out some sort of deal probably to play it.. some big time groups had good sales releasing re-done covers of musical groups before their time.. didn't Credence Clearwater Revival have good success with Proud Mary? Proud Mary was a Ike Turner tune? I think

Written by Luke the Drifter (a.k.a. Hank Williams) in 1953. My collaborator thought it would be cool to rearrange this as an Eastern Folksong. He came up w/ the arrangement and sings it and plays the gypsy guitar on the left channel. I played the guitar on the right channel and did the percussion.

Recorded during the Cornbread Jones sessions in 2002. At the time, me and my collaborator (RC) were playing covers from the 20s-40s. Country blues, ragtime, gypsy jazz, delta blues. That sort of material. We decided to put the CD together while we were doing this. So it's really a 'project' album - many that I own from the '98- '03 era when I was doing a lot of recording. He was heavy into gypsy guitar @ the time. I was 'reining it in' and trying to play a simple Eastern melody. I don't think you can pin this down to one ethnic group because it is a mixture of several different influences.

Thanks for the listen!! :D

wholly enamored by this tune jookeyman, it appears to be a Hungarian Minor Scale or also known as double harmonic minor scale played in A major as A-B-C-D#-E-F-G# and I think you guys were doing it in A major?
