My point exactly Jook. I don't expect Trump to win. But I always go with the outliers and kind of hope something with change.

I'm naive that way.

Obama jokes about the death of Scalia. This is disgusting and unbelievably class-less, even for Obama. ANYONE who supports this a-hole should be ashamed.

Already showed how he opposed Bush's Supreme Court appointments (hypocrite!) and now here is Biden doing it

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/biden ... le/2583910

The Senate has the legal authority, indeed the RESPONSIBILITY for "advise & consent" to any nominee. They better not approve of any appointment of Obama unless they want to see Washington burn. This, more than almost anything in the last few years, has produced a bottomless pit of anger.

Sales pitch or truth....you decide.

I go for Trump POTUS 2016

It is disturbing to read how people think Donald Trump is a dictator or Hitler reborn or many other things. To those people who obvious lack the knowledge and experience of what a real dictator is, go live in North Korea. You obviously cannot distinguish between freedom and slavery so you do not need to live in this country. I support Donald Trump for many reasons. He is going repeal Obamacare and replace it with a healthcare system that works for everyone. Now whether his ideas will be any better than Obamas remains to be seen, but what I can tell you is it cannot be worse. He will keep the mortgage deduction intact so anyone who owns a home will still be able to write off all the interest they pay on their mortgage. He wants to get rid of the carried interest. If you do not know what that is, look it up but it has to do with hedge fund managers who get overpaid. He wants to get rid of inversions and bring all those trillions of dollars sitting off shores back into this country. This will help bring back jobs from Mexico and China. He wants to keep the shareable contributions deductions. He wants to cut the Department of Education and bring it back to the local level where each locality decides on what level of education is good for their communities. He will keep affirmative action intact. He agrees that the court case legalizing gay marriage is the law and a reality. He wants to defund planned parenthood unless they stop abortions. He realizes that woman get a lot of good health services from planned parenthood and would only fund it if the abortions stop. He would support both our military and our police. He would have a study done to see the effects of legalizing certain drugs. He will get rid of common core. He would not allow any refugees from Syria into this country. He would let Russia deal with ISIS. He would restrict free trade to help keep jobs in the USA. He is pro second amendment and would want more people to have the ability to protect themselves. He wants to keep Medicare and Social Security intact. He wants to cut the taxes for the middle class. So if this is what you think Tyranny looks like as you called it, then you must think North Korea is the poster for freedom. You have to be a complete idiot to think that is the case. I do not support Donald Trump because of who he is, I support Donald Trump because of what he stands and what he wants to do to help the people of this country by making it a better place to live like to once was. For all you bigots out there that will interpret that as going back to the 60's or before with discrimination, wrong answer. He is talking about building a middle class again and having a better way of life through economic freedom. If you cannot understand what that means then there is truly no hope for you.

yes, RGMix, good reasons, but what about the fact we could weaken ourselves militarily?.. did not Great Britain have a vote recently about whether to allow Trump into their country? I don't know whatever came of that, but we would risk losing MILITARY ALLIES such as the UK if he is elected.. it is plain to see they don't like him, and they might be scared because of Trump's loose mouth talk bombing the bejeezus out of anybody that does not "tow the line"//.. yes, he has some great ideas, but he is also volatile within his mind.. :D :P :|

We would pull out and that would put a little over 20 billion dollars back in the U.S. pocket book.

In Europe when I drove my M-577 command post on the highway it cost the U.S. $120.00 per K and that was just one vehical

Some pretty good comments there...

I'm about 90% sure I'm going with Trump too, RG already listed a bunch of good reasons, but for me it's just a few basic things.

Not a politician.

Self financed, and therefore not controlled by rich donors or special interest groups. Nobody else can say that.

Has a reputation for getting it done, on time and under budget...Which I would really like to see our government do. Why would we want another career politician doing the same things the last 15 have done and dragging the country down more and more in the process? That's what got us here.

Has the financial background to bring the economy back under control and the kind of ideas that will do it.

We've had people running this country who have made millions for themselves, yet they let the country go broke. How does that happen? 50 million people living in poverty. 45 million on food stamps. 95 million dropped out of the job market. More businesses failed in 2015 than start ups, first time for that since the late 70's. Median income falling. Taxes going up. Government regulations killing businesses. Highest corporate tax rate in the world. Over $2 Trillion held offshore. Manufacturing almost nonexistent. (which is why I couldn't find jobs as a machinist 15 years ago)

Why would we want more of the same? If you do, elect Hillary...or Rubio...probably Cruz too but I give him a little more credit, he has developed a reputation for going against the grain. I don't want any of them, Trump has the guts to stand up against them all and not back down, and despite his more outrageous traits, I think he has the basic idea right and really means it when he says he wants to make this country great again. He's been saying that ever since day one, and I'm convinced he means it. I do see things I'm not fond of, but overall, I think he will do what he says. His reputation is for getting things done, what has Hillary done? Other than lie...

Build a wall and have Mexico pay for it? Yep, Even I know how it could be done...here's what I've been telling people for at least 10 years, the part about building a wall is a recent addition -

Stop all border crossing, period.
Stop all tourist traffic into Mexico on a temporary basis. It's not safe south of the border for Americans.
Shut off all foreign aid to every country south of the border.
Impose a 25% fee on all monetary wire transfers to Mexico.
Refuse all products shipped from Mexico. That includes Ford, Toyota, Carrier, Fender, whoever is manufacturing in Mexico. Or impose a high tax.

Now you have their attention. Shut off the money, politicians pay attention in a hurry. Tell Mexico and all South American countries to shut down illegal immigration and drug cartels, get the wall built and we'll talk money.

Watch that wall get built. We wouldn't have to lift a finger. We could install electronic surveillance and such, but they would build and pay for it to get that money back, they get Billions every year...

I've seen a lot of people complaining he hasn't offered up a lot of specifics, which is true, but I suspect it's the "don't advertise your battle plans to your adversary" syndrome. The times I've seen him do serious interviews, he has made some very good points, and shown a lot of common sense. But without getting too specific. I think he may also know he'll be dealing with a lot of people who didn't want him in there, so he's not giving them any ammunition in advance.

Trump is a very interesting person, and I think a lot more complicated than most people realize. Just because he's not a politician, don't be fooled. He's dealt with politicians all over the world for over 40 years, he knows them well. I also just read in an article that he's collaborating with former New York Mayor Giuliani, who is no slouch. It's not a formal thing, but Giuliani is one of his advisers. And he's one smart cookie. Trump ain't dumb either, far from it.

I never thought it would be Trump, but I've wanted to see someone like this in office for years, running this government like a business, instead of like a slush fund. I do wish he'd change his tax plan a little, I see no reason higher income brackets should pay a larger percentage than anyone else. If 10% or 15% is one person's fair share, that should be the same across the board.

I think the main thing is he wants to take this country in the right direction, and knows how to do it.

We've already seen a hint of his leadership if you've paid attention. In the last debates, Ben Carson didn't hear his name called, and was standing by the curtain waiting, not sure if it was his turn to go onstage or not. Bush walked by, Cruz too, someone else I think. Trump saw a problem and waited with Carson. When the moderators realized what was going on they called them both out at once. Trump let Carson go first, get his moment as the center of attention, then he went out. That showed more class than the whole bunch of them, and is the way I think a true leader should handle himself, and that was on the spot, thinking on his feet. Nobody else showed that kind of respect for an adversary...they walked on by. Trump stayed there. I'm not moving an inch until we fix this. And he stayed put until it was done. Pure class.

I'm not sure when, but one night his limo broke down. A couple stopped to help. They could have just gone on down the road...the next day Trump paid off their mortgage. You never hear a word about it.

A couple in California had a 3 year old boy who needed to get to a hospital in Georgia, none of the commercial airlines would touch it, they didn't want to deal with nurses, oxygen tent and other medical gear. Some one called Trump. He had his personal plane there the same day, got the family to the hospital, wouldn't take a penny.

You don't hear about that kind of thing, and I'm sure there are more, I just haven't heard about them. Sure, he's a shrewd businessman, but he has a heart too.

OK as for the original topic, Scalia was far from an intellectual phony, this is nothing more than a hit piece by someone with a political agenda.
