The declared socialist is finally starting to lose to the undeclared socialist

And Bush drops out but which candidate will that help? My guess is Kasich will start looking more appealing. Rubio's inexperience is starting to show but he's playing smart politically with his endorsements, which Cruz can't get because he's scared everyone but the hard-core religious away, and half of those are going for Trump now.

So if Bush's exit doesn't make the non-Trump candidate start showing up better, it's a race between the undeclared socialist and the undeclared Democrat running as a Republican.

Conservatives lose by shooting themselves in the foot and dividing their votes.

Good conversation Ted. However it seems to come down something as stupid as electing the next rock star.

Trump may be a democrat in wolfs clothing. The pull to not trust Washington insiders is huge. Add in a rock star, and suddenly you have a very interesting situation. Many of the candidates dropping out are very good people.

Sort of like this... 2 bands hold an open mic night. One is a local band. Honestly would you go to that one if the other band was, say, the Rolling Stones?

Do I trust Trump? No. Compared to Sanders calling for outright socialism, Yes.

Cruz hasn't scared me off, and I wouldn't consider myself hard core religious. Cruz is getting my vote TODAY!

He's still my choice, just saying that wearing his faith on his sleeve is really hurting him with voters.

My guess is that I will be voting for him in the general election. Doesn't look like that train will be stopped.

The difference between Cruz and EVERY other candidate is in his actions. Unlike every other politician you could name, he didn't change when he got to D.C.

He did exactly what we (Texans) sent him to do, and has kept every promise to make the Constitution his guide. No one in Washington has come close to being as faithful as he has been...but yea....the "creepy" factor is that he talks like we're all in a public church service and that's going to kill him. In other words, he seems to be trying way too hard for the religious vote, instead of the Constitutional vote. Doesn't seem to know when to be quiet.

But so far in his political career he is unlike any politician I've seen. Honest. Committed to principles of the Constitution. And he doesn't give a rip about being liked in D.C. or liberal media.

But perhaps his biggest qualification is the one that you should like. The Establishment hates him. The GOP is scared of him.

I wish he'd stop pandering for the religious vote, but my guess is that would change if he got the party nomination.

I agree. I like Cruz. I feel he is committed to constitutional principles.
He's not going to win as I see it now. All the values he holds, are true and good. It is not going to be enough.

We are so left now... President Kennedy would have been called a far right extremist.

Yod - Excellent thread, and very good points about Cruz in your last post. I like Cruz too, and for the same reasons. He has gone against the DC establishment since the day he hit the Senate floor, and has never backed down.

I agree the religious angle is probably hurting him, but I don't think he will make it to the finish line. Too many people in DC and the media hate Cruz because of his record. I've seen the comments by some of the stuffed suits on TV, he's not hated in the Senate because he's mean or nasty or can't get along, it's because he rocks their little boat.

Trump, on the other hand, flipped it over and threw the paddles away...

I'd be happy to vote for Cruz, but I don't think it's going to happen. Rubio now has the nod from the DC establishment, they will throw boatloads of money at him, and of course every attack ad they can think of against Cruz.

Good observation about the media ignoring Cruz lately, same thing happened at the first few debates.

I think it's most likely going to be Trump vs Hillary, and I wouldn't vote for Hillary if she ran for dog catcher. I also think he's going to fool a lot of people, he's already pulling a lot of people from Democrats and Independents, and a lot of people will vote for him in private who won't admit it in public too.
