I don't understand you guys. If you don't like something, then why do you talk about it? I don't like Country music, but I'm not gonna make threads to talk about how much I hate it. If it bothers you that much, then don't bring it up.

I'm sorry man screamo is what it is and I just cant do it. Id rather listen to ABBA do dancing queen over and over till my flesh rots off.
Ifn you like it then by all means you may have my share too.

Hey at least you checked it out. Do you realize that's a woman doing the vocals? Tonya is a bad ass. For some reason their music translates better live.

One thing I notice is that a lot of geezers (i.e. jaded musicians who have been playing forever) give up on going to clubs and checking out new bands. Once you do that you are old. And all the bitterness and cutesy remarks in the world won't change that.

Yeah, I'm old. I don't go to clubs anymore. I don't even listen to, or want to listen to, the same music I did when I was a kid. That being said, nothing should be taken away from the emotional charge and release that the music of youth gives to the young. It is what it is. My daughters listen to this stuff. I tried to give it a chance, but I'm just not in that place in my life anymore. If I was 20 years younger, I could see myself being interested in that scene. Love what you love. Let others love what they love. You never know how things will change.

Cause I'm trying to understand it. That's why.

Yeah, of Emo. LOL

Well, supposedly Screamo is influenced by both emo and punk.

That video's hilarious.

Have you seen MadTV's "Tickle Me Emo"?

Hilarious...

Hell Jim I may be old but I'm open to listen. Most all my friends are 20 years younger than I am. and that includes the lead in our band. We learn from each other all the time and none of us are afraid to give an honest opinion.
I had no idea that the vox on that song was a chick, thats pretty cool.
Our music also translates better live, I think all raw music translates better live as that is the intent of the music.
Dont be afraid to bring more stuff like this to my attention I will listen and who knows maybe I'll like. I am not stuck on any genre, but I know what I like or dislike when I hear it.
I dont do clubs anymore first off I carry a gun everywhere and it aint legal in the clubs. Secondly I've had my fill of fightin with dumbass drunks. Hate a fool, got no time for it. But I aint tellin you you shouldnt go . Hell go have a good time. I'm plenty happy with my life just like it is.

Cool man I'm glad you have an open mind. To me age is just a number; I plan on rocking until I'm dead. That includes supporting my local music scene. Like all genres there's good and bad. Music is a young man's game but the beauty of it is that as long as you have passion for it you can rock like a 20 year old. Turn it up and rock on!

you mean like you are doing? -you clearly don't like the fact that someone is saying less-than-positive things about something you obviously care about... and here you are writing a response to a thread about it... why are you doing that? why don't you not bring it up? you might as well answer your own question (and I say all this with all due respect and zero animosity).

if no one cared we'd just say "awe that's crap" and leave it at that...
but here is someone asking to be shown what is good about it...
the gauntlet is there... pick it up or shut it up (again with all due respect and no animosity).

Right on brother!!!

Did anyone notice too, that I did not point out his sig line (well, until now. LOL) as obvious hypocrisy? Singers would be pretty offended by that sig line, but he has no problem with that. Only when the gun is pointed in his direction. LOL

Were screamo... but more the lines of Metal...with screaming vocals... No Emo sh*t involved with us...

Wait till our EP is done next week. I will give you the Lyrics to "Shattered" maybe you will understand it a little...

No I don't hum the lyrics, I usually talk them half under my breath... hard to explain.

I like metal.... I like screaming angry lyrics... it soothes my nerves. Especially if Im in a pissed off mood.

Thanks for the listen and the comments...

AFA cheesehead - I moved to AZ a few months back... but I'm still a cheese head at heart (go pack go).

not sure what you mean by the phone book or sears catalogue... but ok.

vampire dude: seriously - I mean no offence... despite my short disposition... I'm just pointing out the obvious. I have no prob with screamo music... I haven't found any that I like yet... but I haven't really been looking either.
scream your heart out all you want but if you aren't hitting-a-note/screaming-a-scale then I'm not hearing any musicianship.
hell if I can listen to bob d and see past his singing to his lyrics then all bets are off...
but if screamo doesn't have lyrics... AND doesn't make an attempt to create a melody of some sort... then it's just screaming over music.
and it's not really for me then.
