I realize Cruz is a staunch conservative but I'm not. That train jumped the track years ago.

No more uniparty for Mrs. Talbot's oldest. Although I might consider Cruz if Trump blows up but only if he backs off with all that war like bullshit. I'm really sick of war.

Talbot

If Cruz was "uniparty" the GOP wouldn't be so afraid of him winning. He's the only candidate in the race (of the uniparty) who has always done what he says he will do. Bush was the same way, but I didn't support a single initiative he proposed.

But getting rid of the IRS? Flat tax? School vouchers? Oh yea, I'm all in.

It isn't that I'm against Trump. I'm a strict Constitutionalist, which means I'm against all politicians, and Cruz would be a wrench in the works. If there was a way to smoke all of them and shut DC down, that would be a perfect solution, imo.

Washington needs a "do over".

But I hope everyone can see through all this "establishment love" for Trump today. They are simply trying to isolate Cruz, whom they fear MUCH more. They figure they can dust off Trump once Cruz is out of the picture, and in walks Bush, THE Establishment candidate.

They don't believe vice versa could happen, and Bob Dole is the proof. That freakin' loser is the poster-boy of surrender. If he says Cruz would be "catastrophic loss" to the GOP as it is today, then I'm doing a standing ovation and even more committed to the one who seems to scare my political opposition most. Maybe they will start to understand the disgust of conservatives, and indeed all Americans, at the GOP establishment's arrogance. We are tired of voting for candidates who go to Washington and start surrendering to liberals. It smells of bribery and corruption.

And Cruz not getting along with a Congress that has no approval rating deserves a Gold Medal!!!! I like him even more every time these establishment and liberals attack him for being a decent person that doesn't play along with their dirty games.

His biggest downfall will be that he is under so much pressure and attack that he sometimes talks before he thinks about how his words will be twisted. He better be aware that liars will try to destroy him personally, because lies are all they could use to turn his base against him.

Trump has been keeping Cruz from getting the brunt of establishment and media hatred. If he stumbles and ends up losing the GOP nomination somehow, it would allow Cruz to run against Hillary and that would never have happened otherwise. It's a long shot at this point, but the only other scenario on the horizon.

So either way, the grassroots base of the GOP is about to nominate someone that the establishment absolutely hates, and who no one thought had a chance to win, while Hillary is looking more and more like a model for an orange jump suit with numbers across her chest.

yes, interesting times we are living in....

Willie, don't do that man. I know you are a smart person with feelings. I saw what a few did to you a while back. There are some nasty people here right now. Funny how this all turned out. If you hold that much hatred it will only come back to you. If you have those sort of computer skills that you can manipulate that much, kudos to you.

IF It's NOT YOU... Some one is either inside or should working for the FBI to crack open I phones.
If it is you... Thank you for proving out how easy it is to screw up a whole system.

Willie, go back and look at our posts. You decide... But don't do this man, aint worth your time. G.

Interesting comments mostly all around.

I've been a Trump fan from day one, was hoping he would run before he announced. I know he has his flaws and flip flops, but he has a reputation for doing what he says, on time and under budget...when was the last time you saw our government do that? The politicians we've seen for the last 50 years were all multi millionaires who let our government go broke. How do people who have the ability to make that kind of money for themselves, especially in many cases on the salaries of senators, manage to get the country $19 BILLION in debt?

I think he also means what he says. I've only seen him read anything once, when he wanted to make an exact statement, the rest of the time, no rehearsed speeches, no teleprompters, it comes straight from the heart. In several cases it was very obvious he felt very strongly about what he said, one I remember he was holding the podium so his knuckles were white, that's not your typical politician acting...

I'm not fully in line with some of his policies, but I don't remember ever being in complete agreement with any politician.

I saw the writer of the Dilbert comic strip this morning make an interesting observation. Think about this, I'll bet you have imagined Trump already in office, thinking how he would do his job. I'll also bet you haven't done that with any other candidate. That's the effect he has on people.

Palin...can't stand her, that voice is even more irritating than Hillary or Carly Fiorina. Stirs up the stink every time she opens her mouth, I too hope Trump keeps her offstage.

Cruz...Always liked Cruz, he does have a record of standing up for the people and against the status quo politicians in DC, but I still have this nagging bit of doubt because he is still funded by the same caliber of big money donors wo control all other politicians. When he started really coming out against Trump so strong, I had to start wondering who's been whispering in Ted's ear? I'm not sure I like what I see. I'd still vote for Ted if he got the nomination, but I don't think he will.

I have to disagree with Yod on one point, I don't think Bush is the one the establishment wants to shoehorn in if we get to a convention, it's looking like Romney is a more likely bet. His speech bashing Trump a few days ago was despicable, not too long ago he asked for and got Trump's endorsement, and talked about him as if he was the greatest thing since peanut butter. A few days ago he barely stopped short of calling Trump the anti Christ. And I think he wanted to do that...proving he is the same caliber of dishonest, backstabbing politician as Hillary, John Boehner, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnel and so on. I'll never believe another word he says. Funny, I've sad the exact same thing about Bill and Hillary for over 20 years.

This is the most interesting election of the past century. I'm concerned about Trump's faults, but I do think he means what he says and will do what he says. I don't like the egotistical personality, the childish insults and bickering, and I really hope that goes away before election day. I can't wait to see him go head to head with Hillary though, and I think he and Cruz are the only ones who can beat her. Unfortunately, I fully expect the establishment to pull something underhanded, even cheat, to keep Trump and Cruz out of their little gravy train. Cruz has rocked the boat since the day he walked onto the Senate floor. Trump flipped it over and threw away the paddles.

I like the same 3 reasons someone else posted...

Democrats hate Trump,
Republicans hate Trump,
the media hates Trump.

Can't get better endorsements than those.
