Thanks vinny. That is exactly what we are all saying. Ilegal guns in the wrong hands inspires all sorts of violence. Obviously the gun laws on the books are not confronting the real problem. SO... Let's change the law to go after law abiding citizens instead. People that would only move to extreme force when the law becomes a doorway to ANARCHY by LAW.

I know I loved the America of the 1970's a thousand-fold more than today's America.. I think the internet has ruined the fabric of America more than what is suggested by most talking heads.. in the past police did their work, and criminals got taken off the street and if a little too much force was used, it never got publicized on the internet to get a mass of people roiled up a mass of people not really knowing all the facts about the situation, they see a 15 second video"news clip" shot on an I-phone and make judgement based on 15 seconds of "film"...totally out of line you Black Lives Matter crowd, police brutality or not, don't jump to conclusions.. same for the "take my guns crowd".. the real problem is lack of morals by a cross-section of society taught nothing about how to practice the golden rule, not going to church every Sunday for the purpose of instilling correct moral values, re-enforcing this in a habitual pattern, they with no understanding of the importance and value of human life mow down people with guns, because they have not developed as did previous countless generations before, who respected life and had control of their reptilian impulses..

but you have to ask yourself planetguy, guns were on pretty much of the same per capita in terms of ownership in the 1950's-1970's and there were not these every day mass shootings? I tell you it's a different set of people walking around on earth with corrupted morals opposed to the 1950's-1970's crowd and I know in my heart of hearts church attendance and never learning "RIGHT FROM WRONG" is the cause of this madness.. I can't believe it was science that caused atheism so prevalent today, it is rebellion .. like you have said, you don't need religion to tell you right from wrong, but you are no doubt more intelligent then the mass killing shooters..take a look at them and see none believed in a higher intelligence that caused creation.. if we all just evolved from a cell of algae in the primieval too many people believe in no consequences from evil they commit, at least religion in man's life gave him the fear of God and kept him from being a mass shootings maniac..if we evolved from an algae how do you explain the two sexes, how did the two sexes come about if God did not miraculously create two sexes for 99% of life forms, scientifically if evolution is the only criteria then the world should be made up of just one sex or was that a mutation too?

Pretty much the same thing I tried to get across a few posts ago. What we have here is a human nature problem, a lack of morals and values. Kids are not taught to respect other people like they were when I was young, and most can't even tell you what the golden rule is. Much less try to follow it. Morals went out the window long ago. It's so easy to treat other people the way you want them to treat you...I don't manage it 100% of the time, but I try and it ain't hard...

It's deeper than that, parents and schools are unable to use any discipline, either the kids will sue or child services will take away the kid. Who then gets passed around from one foster family to another and often ends up a confused, angry, neurotic juvenile delinquent headed for trouble.

That's why we didn't see the kind of mass shootings in the 50's through 70's we do today, kids were brought up with a little discipline and some morals, often went to church, school teachers could and did use a paddle when kids misbehaved, I know that first hand, when you got in trouble you were really in trouble, not just a talking to...I got paddled at school, for fighting, fortunately I didn't get it at home, since I didn't start it, I was defending myself, I got suspended...kids now are just told not to do it again, which they ignore, there's no discipline.

I still think TV, movies and video games have an impact. Kids see so much violence I'm not sure if many of them realize the difference between fantasy and real life. Violence is so commonplace in their daily entertainment it has no real impact, when they see violence in the news it's just another movie. When they do it themselves it has little meaning. but that goes back to having no respect for life itself.

Other things have an impact as well, I don't think there's any one catalyst you can point to as the definitive reason for these shootings.

I said take away guns, they'll use knives, swords, spears, rocks...you just said pretty much the same but you ridiculed me when I said it. Which is why I simply ignored you. You only want the truth when it suits your purposes. Any other time, you fall back on ridicule to try and just shut down the discussion.

Whether you want to admit it or not, you ridicule people more than anyone on this forum. This is standard procedure for you, deny you ever did anything wrong, it's always someone else. It's always "their"truth, especially when they post proven facts, it's always someone else blamed for starting it, it's always someone else pushing their ideology...

And you're not even smart enough to figure out when you're being baited. You think I didn't know exactly how you would react? You think I didn't know before I did it just what your response would be?
