Forget my previous remarks on my concepts. Your bass collab on Mexico is starting to grow on me.
Yesterday I listened to it on an expensive pair of earbobs that really boost bass frequencies. The bass seemed too hot in the mix and I couldn't hear the guitars. Today I listened to it on this cheap little notepad w/ the cheesy speakers and it cut back the bass frequencies and I was hearing more mids and the guitars are cutting through a little better.

My ultimate test will be through the Pioneer w/ the EQ set flat. That's what I use to gauge volume and EQ in my mixes.
I'll get w/ you next week on this and we can discuss. Thanks buddy.

BTW- I was coming back to my previous post to delete all that 'concept' lingo when you replied to it. When I went back the second time to listen to it I realized where you were going w/ this and it hit me between the eyes. Sometimes I get stuck in a conceptual idea when I need to let go, know what I mean? This is all new to me so take that into consideration as well.

one of our long standing members here on BM recently put forth the notion that there's an absence of imaginative people here....PSHAW. i don't believe that for a second. ( truth told, i doubt he does either).

but sheesh, 11 pages into this and besides myself....brendan61, schmed, and jook were the only brave souls to take a stab at this?

and i had such high hopes for this!

now, i wasn't expecting glenny to participate after he took that unfortunate blow to his head and went all amusical.... and vamp's too busy trying to get us to wake up and smell the fukishima fallout....but really, no one else? dayne? haley? gtrmike? talbot? rg? vinny?

I forgive you! I was working on that song yesterday, did some cutting/additions based on some feedback from others, retracked vocals (many takes) with some different lyrics in places. Will take a while to get a new mix together.

yeah, mike....way to go! i think i said this last time but it has that '70's Rick Robert's era Burrito Bros/Firefall vibe to it. i like the little C to D bit that you tagged on to the B section. very nice addition.

and like jook was alluding to earlier...very cool how different people's takes on the same changes can be so very different. ( more on that subject later jook)

Who is this? The Dave Clark Five? Such a mesmerizing GIF. The Go-Go Girl is the eye candy, but I must say....I've never seen anyone play bass like that. Is that even anatomically possible?
