nice piece dayne, may i suggest you rerecord it on another (better) gtr....curmudgeon i am, i found the intonation problems distracting.

I bet you are getting "distracted" at the 1:18 to 1:47 section where liberal uses of the devil's tritone might be unsettling but purposely done for disturbance of listeners emotion.. then it breaks into that neat D chord at 1:48 and the resolution will cause a chill down the spine, at least for me the contrast is effective at emotion tingling.. :)

dayne, let me introduce myself...i'm the atheist who plays jazz! that means i don't believe in the devil and that i'm on a first name basis w tritones, tritone substitutions, and all kinds of altered extensions and altered chords. :D

sorry, man...your gtr is seriously out of tune...listen to that open A string against the chord at 0:25. that whole section (before your tritone biz) from o.25 - 1:20 is actually the bit that nudged me to mention it in the first place.

again....nice piece.

The closest I can come to this tune is this - https://soundcloud.com/jookeyman/beggars-waltz
I have a piano virtuoso lined up to transcribe this for piano after the Christmas season has passed. He doesn't have any free time right now to work on it and I suggested we get together for the transcription to help it go quicker. He likes the piece but he is having a little difficulty deciding what to use as the melody line, fills, counterpoint, etc. It would help for me to show him how I constructed the piece so he can better understand how to reconstruct it. Another collaboration of sorts.

it's one of those crappy days when it comes to internet surfing quality time, nothing seems to be loading up 100% today, something is broke downstream or upstream within the network i guess

I really want to do this, but to have you as my NOLA guide would be much appreciated Jookey, until I learn the ropes of the life and times of New Orleans, you could steer me out of the bad neighborhoods, you could accompany me on guitar, we could make $$$$$100.00$$$$$ hats I am sure, but we would need to rehearse our set up and get it tight, might take 6 weeks to do that but you and me bud? what ya say?

ok, I must have missed your posts as per your reasons for not living in NOLA.. but if I may ask, and if you can't I will fully understand, but could you upload beggars-waltz to the player here at BandMix, I seriously can't even get the soundcloud page to load at all, just the banner..if it's not much bother that is.. if not, I will try later at soundcloud, might just be internet congestion around xmas on the web network and won't load cause of that, I cleared cache and did not help.. :o
