played a PLANET gig last night at a bar/winery in Macon MO. new bartender/mgr there who's real excited to see us as we're loading in. intros all around and he mentions he's the band director at the HS there. cool.
well, a few songs into our first set.....he pulls out his alto from under the bar, looks over at me questioningly miming if it;s ok to join in. i give him the nod...and the guy cooks! he sounded great and joined us on three or four songs thru the night when he wasn't busy at the bar. his alto sounded great w our sax man's Bari, tenor, and soprano. listening to the recording now... yeah, the boy could play!
great listening crowd there and they especially went nuts for their homeboy. i have the feeling we'll be seeing a lot more bookings there!
