'98 Corrola and 2008 Sienna minivan ( my chick magnet) for me.

i've only owned one cool car in my life, a 71' XKE that was a total money pit! i couldn't get my vibes in it, but i could fit my upright in and i would sometimes drive the Jag to those gigs. it was always good for a laugh when people saw me pull the doghouse out of it

I've always loved those XKEs, especially the older multi-carb jobs. Yes, they were money pits but they are worth a mint these days if it is in pristine condition in stock form.

the roadsters fetch big money...the coupes, not so much so. that '71 was a V-12 w four Stromberg carbs.

I love my old Cherokee because the back will hold my PA and my bass or guitar rig easily. The perfect gig machine.

exactly how i feel about my Sienna. i don't even have to think about where everything goes...just toss the stuff in. (vibes being the exception cos' they get tied in).

Buddism ... the consumption of a liquid chemical now marketed as but in no way resembling Beer. Yet another religion with Ritual and enlightenment. Buddha and what he spawned inadvertently is now at the point of it's long predicted extinction. It is over just like a late model car ... plastic and without a trunk but very costly and a chick magnet for some. I did like the graphic for the blood Nymphs very much. All of our Twittering must be amusing to someone or something. Dayne ... that was quite amusing and I thank you. You are all very much appreciated from at least myself. I mean this from my heart. your diversities and posts and strong opinions are most excellent and i will treasure them.
This is the time to look about yourself and ally with any that you may for a desperate and violent turmoil approaches which threatens existence itself. I bear no grudges against any of you and wish you only the best. My dark shining here dims evermore and soon i shall vanish. It is only a question of which reason shall triumph over the many others in my dissipation. Nevertheless I shall miss you all and remember fondly this forum and its many and varied members.

Mark - how did you fit an upright bass in that jag?

For sure new vehicles are money pits in that just driving off the lot, you've pissed off several thousand $$. the good news is the new vehicles are being built a lot better than 25-30 years ago - remember when mufflers and exhaust systems would only last 4-5 years? Now they last 10 or more.
But buying an older vehicle can be just as much of a loss - not in the lost resale value but in parts and replacement work needed. Gone are the days when you can tinker around and fix stuff easily under the hood. Simple things like battery changes, are still do-able. Oil change? Major PITA to get to the oil filter on most new vehicles because there is so much crap crammed in under the hood.

I've got a 2008 Nissan pickup that sucks down the Arab juice - but I can load that thing up with a whole band's gear, or a week's camping trip with no problems fitting everything in. 4WD for winter storm driving.


Just got a 2016 Subaru for my wife - she wanted all wheel drive before the winter hit. 37mpg on the highway.

I used to drive by Maharishi University campus 5 days a week in Fairfield, Iowa when I was working at FALCO as a foundary worker RGM, and I conclude you are as good as levitator as their most skilled leviators were..this was in 1976 .. has to do with "locks" gravity and earth's magnetic electro-pulse LOL
