My buddies are reading this at the same time I am and they say "it's ok to do what you want, as long as you aren't too full of yourself and then they heard your "tracks".

#1) says "Put the dog out"

#2) says "Cutting is a good way to invest emotion into your music, do it while while you play"

#3) says "Loved your ski mask, great video but next time remove the music"

#4) says "remember no stamp on the email" and "whenever your computer gets hot, it is NOT your firewall acting up".

Please note that these comments are personal opinions, and do not necessarily represent the views of Captain Scott et al.

"Normally I would have just given you the regular dose of gun powder in your dog food, but they saw it and wanted to speak." - Scott

ROCK ON! Noemoshun Mikey!

Fast Ry,
Sounds cool what I heard so far. I'll check it out more when I get more time.
I liked the video. My son and band mate, Ryan, is into playin' bass, fishin', landscapein', outdoor stuff, and huntin' mushrooms! ...Pretty spooky .

By the the way I would give up my band to be in yours anyday.

That's some gratuitous sh*t if I ever heard it! LOL

Thanks. Much appreciated!

btw...

Our drummer Brian is home from the hospital, and his recovery time may be only 6 to 8 weeks they are telling him now, because the breaks on his back are considered "insignificant" breaks. They happened on places where the back does not endure alot of stress or hold alot of the body's weight. So that's VERY good news.

Even though the recovery time is shorter though, not sure he will be back with us. I guess it's safe to say now, that he had told us to look for another drummer BEFORE the accident happened, cause he felt he was going to hold us back as a band. He drives a 5 hour round trip to come practice with us. He lives almost in Chattanooga, and it had been grating on him, but the real problem, is that he took ALL his vacation time, to make room for some big music festivals we were going to be playing in. And now that we have someone booking us full-time, he realized that our regular gigs would be increasing dramatically soon.

We've played more in other states than locally, and now that we are finally concentrating on our own backyard (Atlanta area) we are starting to develop a name here pretty strongly already.

I think we will be on a completely different level by next year. We've had some MAJOR setbacks just as we were about to break out which has hurt us and set us back by several months each time. This accident with Brian is just the latest in a string. But I think we've paid our dues by now and will have some great things in store.

We just heard that we may be opening for Jimmie Van Zant in June.

We auditioned a drummer and bass player yesterday and things went really well. The drummer is as good as Brian, maybe better. He has 5 drum kits, and is somewhat of a local legend around our area, having played in some well known local acts.

Our bass player started a new job, that SUCKS as far as scheduling for the band goes. In less than a month he will miss two GIGS (an almost unforgiveable sin to me personally) and 1 practice. He may have conflicts with some other gigs as well, that we have commited to, but don't have times for yet. He also has a baby on the way (number 2) so his wife is not working, and it became clear, though we love him as a founding member of the band, we are forced to go in another direction.

He accepted stepping back, into a back-up role, and making room for a bass player that can play full-time with us, without scheduling conflicts. In staying on good terms with the band, we promised that if his position opens back up in 6 months or a year, and his circumstances have improved, then he can take his lead role back.

It was terribly painful to have that sit-down with him, but I think we went about it in the right way, and left the door open for him.

In any event, these guys that auditioned haven't heard any of our stuff. It was probably the best "cold" rehearsal we ever had with musicians wanting into the band.

So I am pretty happy that we are back on track.

Captain, good try again. You almost had me until you said you had buddies. You should be happy that the people here let you hang around and ride the ponies and stuff.

Craig, I hope everything works out for you and the band. No gratuitous sh*t here when I say I've always thought you were a great writer, player and vocalist.

Wow, alright, alright. Thanks VERY much.

Great. My band's had it next practice, thanks to you....

"Mike Gentry thinks I rock bros! And you guys are gonna make me look bad now! Remember I said we needed 2 a weeks? We're gonna practice 6 times a week now. You guys need 2 days practice for each thing I'm good at! Just to catch up to me!"

Band whispers to each other...

"Who the F*ck is Mike Gentry? I'm gonna ring his neck!"

LMAO!!!

Damn Craig I don't want to be your groupie, (my girlfriend might) you probably won't get a Valentines card from me and I ain't going to move to Atlanta to be near you or anything but I'm dead serious about what I think of your talent and music. People just don't take me serious anymore.

Looks like Craig would love to have you Mike. Shoot anybody with ears should want to have you. You have that raw real thing.

Now back to the original topic!!! Fastfret, Man that stuff sounds 50 times better than that cell phone recording you made  . It sounds good. Heavy, tight, real. Good production and mix. I don't make that kind of music. It still can move me however. It has the same effect on me that reaching way forward to grab the drag bars on my 150+ horsepower VMAX motorcycle does. It makes me hunch my shoulders like a neanderthal and it feels raw and nasty! Dig it man. I was scared and didn't know what to expect. You never know what to expect. Some people talk and don't produce. Apparently you have that thing! There are a lot of talented people here. I haven't heard any vox yet FF. I hope to hear something like a GWAR voice, but with non-joking lyrics. I have to admit I do not like screamers. Keep it rolling man. I am impressed!!

One more thing ff. There is no way to put this that won't make me look like a dork, so here goes. You have frickin' COOL face. You just look cool like a guitarist should. I know it doesn't have any thing to do with the music but man! ..... I'm a dork.

dont pay capt spanky any heed mike...he is still sore from the last time he banged heads with me...

ill tell you this much mike your a far better player than i was when i was your age...you seem to have a natural talent that needs to be fine tuned and you could be a REAL guitar player...not just a guy who plays guitar..

im with craig, howlin, fastf, neanderpaul and just about everyone here when i say you got a great gift...dont let anyone tell you otherwise...

i would give you a gig in a heart beat....straight up

and its not a cheering section...good music is good music...if its well writen and well played its very easy to spot...and vice versa
if i like something i say so.. and if i dont like it i say i dont like it...
plain and simple..no need to twist the knife or bring up the age or how the person even looks to hammer home a negative...

now back to fastfret...well i have to say it sounds like a different band compared to the old "phone" recording...a million miles better guys..
it brought back memories...i started off playin deathmetal and i still have a soft spot for it...anyhow i liked your tracks..they sound tight and together...nice guitar tones.. not too fuzzy and everything(soundwise) is in its right place..it would be nice to hear it with vocals as that will change the overall feel of the tracks...so get yerselves a good singer and take that pig ta town...

goodluck with it.

slain.
