You guys still here?
BillyRich?
SteveFlacey?
JonnyRocker?
Belle?
AuburnDiva?
GuitarBluesGirl?
.
What have you guys been up to?
.
JustDe?
MHBuckelew?
Monkey68?
.
Still recording music?
.
Lately, I've been gravitating towards finger-picking some of the songs I previously strummed. It changes the rhythm, but it seems to be popular with listeners. Almost sounds like Classical music, but Jazzy/funky - hard to describe. Hard to play, but worth it.
(of course, I still play the bluesy/funky/jazzy stuff . . :) )
I practice 7 days/week, and on Mondays 3 of us get together.
Haven't played with any fresh blood, lately - hope I don't get stale . . .

I'm sill here. Been lurking a lot, & noticed the recent boom of new posters. I've got a new acoustic guitarist for my duo, been jamming with some new players, & have some gigs booked for Biketoberfest, so all is well here in Daytona. Ernesto, who everyone thought was going to be heavy metal, turned out to be easy listening. Some rain, but nothing more. Hurricane shmurricane!
Hey, I noticed a new poster from Salamanca. Is he another Exit 20 guy?

Yeah, some of them sure are, uh, exuberant, huh?
So, you're a trio, now. How's it look for the future - pretty good?

Yeah, I forgot to mention him. Sorry 'bout that. Sign of old age . . . :)
.
Rayjon, feel free to join us. I understand you left because you were (shall we say) more serious about doing just music . . .
Happens a lot to musicians . . . .
.
Belle, glad to hear from you. Hows things?
Hey, Belle, here's a question for you: If you picked up your guitar right this minute, would you find that it's still in pretty good tune?" :)
I know you've been busy publishing stuff. Nice feeling to be published, huh? :)

Not Rajon: there's a new thread for a lead guitarist available from a poster called Fiesta6653. I noticed he's from Salamanca.
As for the new guitarist; no, we're still a duo. I haven't added anybody; just replaced the one who had the "episode" last week. Matter of fact, he's due here for practice any minute now...

Alan,
I left EXIT 20 cause I wanted to do music NOT more than just do music. This was my first venture into a bar band and now I see why I never did it,too many drugs, alcohol and running around.

Julie,
yes,fiesta6653 is the lead guitarist for EXIT 20 but didn't have the drive to leave the band quite yet but he'll be gone as soon as he gets locked in with someone.

I'm working diligently on a project that will take me to Nashville by years end to be involved with a touring band so I'm out of the bar scene.

Jon,
Yeah, that's what I meant by 'just' music.
Maybe I didn't word it so great, but I feel the same way that you do (about the whole 'party' scene). I stopped going to bars 25 years ago.
I just want to play.
Good luck with your project.

Thaks Alan. After I reread what you wrote I realized what you meant. My finger was trigger happy on the submit button.Once I get my pic on Jackson Deerfield's website I'll let everyone see the new me.I'm leaving the pure classic rock style and going into southern rock, over the edge country.

Jon, how do you feel about the change - make much difference in your drumming?
.
Ahh, Belle, I knew you were still playing. :)
And, yep, it's $4.05, flat rate, no matter what it weighs, as long as you can cram it in. :) Did you know you can fit 2,100 return-address labels in one of those envelopes? :)
.
Hey, Julie. How'd practice go?
.
.
Any other 'old faces around?

Practice went well. We hammered out about 20 covers, & I even taught him a few of my originals. Not bad for a first pactice. He's already got us booked for a private party in a few weeks for twice what I was getting, & 2 bookings for Biketoberfest. I told him if he could get us paid like that he could do ALL the booking! Full band practice tonight; hope that goes as well!
Belle, congrats on the book. I hate to admit that I used to be a much more avid reader than I am now, but I'm definitely gonna want a copy!

Hey Alan,
After listening to Jackson's tunes on his website I don't see much difference in drum style of playing.I like the fast, bouncy style of playing drums regardless of genre.I realize I have to be ready to throw in the few slow tunes,Jackson is actually going to let me incorporate my style as long as it doesn't change too much of the music core as his current songs are done with a drum machine so there isn't a whole lot of accents, syncopation, drum fills, etc.

Julie,
First practice - 20 covers, a few originals.
A first booking, at double pay, 2 more bookings . . .
Hmm . . sounds like after all your prospecting, that you might have hit the 'mother load,' huh?
Great - I hope it keeps up for you. :)
.
Jon, seems to be kind-of a nice position to be in . . . Back to your roots (Southern Rock). I'll bet you're much-appreciated . . .
Probably any new songs will give you more leeway, huh?
After his working with a machine, does a live-drummer ever throw him off?
