I have got a new idea regarding co-writing music and finding new collaborations on the web. Wouldn´t it be cool if there was a place where i can get new ideas from someone or for that matter be inspired and create something for someone elses piece of music?

I really think co-creation is the future. Does this strike a chord with someone in here. Let me know.

indeed, it strikes a chord with me, I am working on getting 55 tunes up on yourlistem.com so I can hopefully attract percussionists, bassists, saxophonists, into considering doing my original material, or at least attracting somebody to re-arrange them, and make the tunes better, and make proud any venue owner enough to hire the future "band"..

Maybe you won´t form a band this way but then again maybe you will... You´ll definitly collaborate with people you wouldn´t met otherwise. Dayne Nobody IV: How does yourlisten.com work. Can people add stuff to your song there or is it just for commenting giving feedback?

I believe it is just for an "end product".. Ted, a regular here, I think mentioned a "drop-box"website he uses to work with other musicians he works with think there are others too, GuitarMikeB. will probably drop by soon, and give you better info.. never looked too much into it cause I am on dial-up, and that in itself hinders collabs, ..

There are plenty of music collaboration sites out there, just do a google. The best collaborations come from doing it live face-to-face, but its tough to find people that are musically compatible.

That was quite the thread Planetguy and i agree with GuitarMikeB that the IRL can the best way. Although the concept of cowriting with someone across the globe is an interesting idea.

Would you let unfamiliar people into your songwriting to get new fresh ideas to choose from? It could be a great way to create music.

Try Ohm Studio. You can join for free (for the first 10 songs). You set up a profile, listing instruments you play and genres. Then players from around the world can ask to join or you can recruit them. Once someone joins a project, they can record their parts and you can have a final say in whether you use that part or not (or if they need to not turn it up to "11").

Ohm music seems pretty awesome. I have to try it.

I like everything about it, except for the fact that I can't do Jack squat on there because I don't understand computers at all!

Ok, so if there was a very-easy-to-use alternative you would lean towards that instead? I looked at Ohm Studio briefly and it seemed really well crafted but advanced. When i record at home i actually prefer Garageband before Logic, so i in a way understand where you´re coming from.
