Hi There!

My name is Christopher and I'm with Calendar Boys Productions. We are a new production company based here in New York City focused on creating spec commercials, music videos, viral and parody videos to be distributed online via YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, and similar social media sites. Our first project (produced in association with Jeremy Terry Productions) is a music video for the song Valley High by American composer and singer/songwriter, Drew Gasparini.

We are currently looking for a mandolin player and an acoustic guitar player for our studio recording toward the end of September. Selected musicians will need to be available for the following:
• One rehearsal (not to exceed 4 hours) the evening of September 27th
• Studio recording session (not to exceed 4 hours)

This is the first production for our brand new company and as such has a tight budget. Therefore we are unable to pay our musicians the money we know they are worth. That said, we are more than happy to give all musicians full credit, copy of both the audio recording and the finished music video, water/sodas and snacks at rehearsals and recording session, and an invitation to the wrap party.

In addition, those musicians willing to work with us now at the ground level will be our first picks when we finally do have a budget to work with and can properly compensate everyone for their hard work.

If you are interested, please feel free to contact me by email at calendarboysproductions@gmail.com and we can discuss the project further!

Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon!

I've raised my rates. I'll need some beer, coke, a hooker .....AAAAAAAAAND a cpl hunnert bucks.

I have less and less patience for people expecting musicians to give it away for exposure, sharing our art, or the pie in the sky promise of possible future work.

I'd be curious to know if this production company is giving away their work for free.

That's a good question. And no, we are not making any money on this project. This was strictly a portfolio piece for our director and for our company to show what we can do if given the chance. After being told by people that they will not fund or back us until they can see what we are capable of, we decided to put together a really well done project.

The founders of this very small brand new production company are actors, directors, songwriters, and playwrights looking for a platform to start to create our own work. We, more than anyone know that musicians and artists are worth their weight in gold. Unfortunately, until we have something to show for ourselves, we just don't have that gold.

We understand your frustration and hope this explanation helps to clear things up a bit. :)

Our small company is made up of only 4 people at the moment. We are young and just starting out. Our website is being worked on as we speak. We hope to have it up by the end of the month. :)

We understand. And thats exactly what we hoped to find on this site. And it worked. We found the musicians we needed and are thrilled to have them. That's all the post was meant to be. Putting the word out to people who were willing to play under the means we were able to give.
