Yes and the city with some of the strictest gun laws in the country (Chicago) has the highest murder rate in the country.

No matter how you try to spin it another mentally ill person was allowed .

This has got to stop...yes, we must do something about mentally ill people. What does that have to do with the NRA though?

Let's take a scientific look at the facts about violent crime in America.

From Department of Justice statistics on violent crime:

First, we find that during the 2012/2013 period, blacks committed an average of 560,600 violent crimes against whites, whereas whites committed only 99,403 such crimes against blacks. This means blacks were the attackers in 84.9 percent of the violent crimes involving blacks and whites. This figure is consistent with reports from 2008, the last year DOJ released similar statistics. Perhaps not coincidentally, that was the year Mr. Obama was elected president.

Interestingly, we find that violent interracial crime involving blacks and Hispanics occurs in almost exactly the same proportions as black/white crime: Blacks are the attackers 82.5 percent of the time, while Hispanics are attackers only 17.5 percent of the time.

Some observers argue that what causes the overwhelming preponderance of black-on-white over white-on-black violence is “chance of encounter,” due to the fact that there are five times as many whites as blacks in the American population. However, there are only about 30 percent more Hispanics than blacks, yet black-on-Hispanic violence is almost as lopsided as black-on-white violence. This suggests blacks may be deliberately targeting both whites and Hispanics.

So....if you think guns are the problem....then black people should not be allowed to buy guns since they are 84% more likely to commit a violent crime.

Wouldn't that be discrimination? Of course it is....though it has more logical reasoning than linking crimes of mentally ill people with the NRA. You seem to imply that there is some comparison to the actions of law-abiding citizens (who collectively support an organization that protects their 2nd Amendment rights) and mentally ill criminals. Why not look at the root causes of the problem, instead of discriminating against responsible citizens?

Law abiding citizens have a legitimate need to defend themselves from criminals with guns...especially with all the violent criminals being allowed through our borders unhindered today. In a Utopian fantasy world, maybe not so much...but where is that place? There will always be violent people who will break the law and commit crimes. THEY are the problem....not the gun, nor the stick, nor the knife they use.

I was about to post the very same stats and conclusion. Although I have posted the murder rates and crime rate stats and the people responsible for committing 50% of the crimes before in this section the drones always ignore the facts.. They really do hate truth. Truth to them is as a vampire shrinking from a cross.

So why do the gun hating Liberals want everyones guns when only 13% of the population commit 50% of the crimes? It is obvious that Blacks and Mexicans commit most crimes against people of other races... so citizens need guns for their own protection. Why don't the spineless liberals go after the people who are raising the most havoc? Because they care racist cowards? If was truly an issue they would go after the segment of the population that needs to be addressed, concerning gun violence..

Just like the White House bimbo who comes running out of the gate whenever he sees an opportunity to blame those what have done nothing wrong,. all the liberal drones also have to jump on the bandwagon with their empty headed reasoning.

Why wasn't this a race crime? It would have been if a white shot two blacks. Why isn't this a hate crime? It would have been if a straight shot a gay. Nope. none of that from the baiter phony gun control bastards this time. But only because it doesn't fit the criteria of their agenda. If they really wanted to cut the crimes by 50% they would address the black community problem. And that is mostly the fruit of the liberal welfare programs that make it easy for single parent families..

This is all a ruse to disarm the American population in order to become the full Communist/ Marxist state that they desire in their madness. They couldn't care less about who kills who with what If this were not so they would address the problem where it is most prevalent, within the black community. In a preview of an interview with President Barack Obama set to air tomorrow on Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI, the president reacted to the WDBJ shooting earlier in the day with commentary on what he described as “gun-related incidents.”

“It breaks my heart every time you read about or hear about these kinds of incidents,” Obama said. “What we know, is that the number of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism.”

jeff, it's the state not the city that is responsible for gun laws. that'd be illinois and they are not even close to having the strictest gun laws in the country.

while we're at it you might do some research and find yourself surprised to learn that the states WITH the strictest gun laws have the best ratings for less gun related crimes and less homicide.

(or don't check and remain ignorant on that point)

Far above this debate is the reason America has been fundamentally transformed. We have people that question the constitution. We actually have laws that are in direct conflict with the constitution. We actually have a large number of people that believe it is OK for the law... to violate the law.

The saddest thing, is the agenda that has promoted dependence on the corporation known as the government... AT ALL LEVELS. Town, county, state, and federal employees are dependent on keeping citizens in order. What has actually happened is the destabilization of TRUE AMERICAN VALUES... If you enter a race in the middle, you can have no idea of what the first half of the race was like. Truth is always hated by evil men and it is distorted in every possible way to pave the way for evil. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been watered down and the meaning of those words twisted to present lies as truth by lawyers and politicians. That the constitution and Bill of rights are living documents are the lies of the left. America is being destroyed by such men such as these for the lust of power and greed.

Keep thinking that those are documents that are open to change and you will live under a repressive regime in due time. Those documents are all that stand between you and tyranny, and through the tyrannical left you have already lost most of your liberty and rights through their bastardizing of those documents. Eventually you shall loose them all, for that is their ultimate goal.Through their distortion your children's futures are already being stolen from them through an illegal invasion and bastardization of the 14th amendment, and that is only one small example. To one without the ability to examine what is going on and see ahead into the future the effect this will have on future generations and the quality of life in America may mean little. As wonderful as our constitution is, it was written a long time ago. Everything in life is fluid and things that were relevant, made sense, and worked well even 20 yrs ago.....let alone 200 plus yrs ago are best when not followed with blind and unquestioning allegiance ....that's what sheep do.

In regards to the 2nd amendment....do you really think the framers of the constitution ever envisioned a time when yahoos would walk into movie theaters, shopping malls, and recruitment offices with assault weapons to blast away?

Exactly correct Mark. No one wants your shotgun, rifle or even your hand gun. What we do want are extensive background checks, elimination of loopholes (the stupid three day rule for example) and a limitation on large capacity ammo cartridges/magazines. The process for screening gun buyers should be as rigorous as possible. These are all things the NRA opposes and is able to overcome with their lobby in Washington.

If you could guarantee that criminals and government follow those rules, then NRA would have no reason to oppose them.

I think we all agree that a rigorous process should be expected, especially if the potential customer has not been an upstanding citizen. Harassing everyone else because "someone might do something bad somewhere" is not a good reason, though. It's TSA
