Some of you may remember Tammy here a few years ago - she doesn't come to the forums anymore because of the testosterone levels ....
Anyway... she and I are part of a songwriter group in New Hampshire and yesterday we played some of our original songs at the annual Ukulele Picnic. The sound man (a volunteer) wasn't too good, he turned down the backup singer mics instead of leaving them up on each song and the monitor mixes were terrible, but there was minimal time between acts, and no pre-gig soundchecks.

Geez no love of ukes here! Tends to be the same for any/all acoustic work around this area - there's always a ton of players looking to form/upgrade thier"classic rock" or "indie rock" band, but there's 5X as many low volume acoustic gigs available as loud rock gigs. (and they all pay the same!)

After this round of playing (and writing/rehearsing) I'm putting my uke away for a while - I need to replace the stock tuners with some Grovers, too, sounds like a project for the coming winter.
